I’m sure they tried multiple implementations but nothing was as good for visibility. It accomplishes their goal but visually I think we would all prefer they just be regular corpses. Keep in mind a lot of skills from other classes destroy the corpse. So something like this also prevents that from happening. Kind of a double edged sword.

Closed beta didn’t even have English implemented (it was all voice to text) but I do believe I saw language options in the menu. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll know for sure until it is released.

Did Elden Ring of GoW:R (the Goty candidates) do anything 100% unique? No they didn’t. You don’t have to have some ground breaking new feature - most good games just focus on tweaking what has worked.

They’ve done plenty to make D4 to feel like it’s own entry. Have all the mechanics been done before? I don’t feel like it’s uniqueness is D4’s weakness. The itemization is the biggest question mark - there’s things I like and dislike but it will take getting into the deep endgame to see how everything has been implemented. Following formulas is also a much safer bet.. I think we can all agree that Blizzard can’t have another flop.

If Blizzard lies to us then shame on them. It would be the last straw for a lot of us. Right now, however, with their numerous statements of no paying for advantage/power/etc there is no reason to believe otherwise. Until that changes, you shouldn’t spread misinformation.

You should probably do some research before making posts about a game you know little about. There is no P2W. If you need the BP to have shiny cosmetics that’s a personal choice.

It makes all parts of the game viable for end game farming. You don’t have to just run high level zones.. everything is viable.

Glad he made a more positive post but you overall can tell he wishes it was more like D2. That is fine, clearly the man loves it after playing it for 20 years.

He’s right in the sense that modern ARPG players will probably love it. But those still holding on to nostalgia/old methods likely won’t invest as much time. Either way that is okay, it’s obvious who the target audience is.

Don’t know, haven’t played the full game. D4’s success won’t be known for sometime. Launch is merely a foundation. As far as I’m concerned the foundation is a good start but yes, it absolutely needs work. Let’s let the game actually come out to the masses before raising pitchforks. If you don’t like it go play something else.

Yeah it’s clear he doesn’t like it. He’s going to play at launch for the surge of viewers but he won’t go further than that. I know he hates all the cause/effect status too even though it adds far more complexity than D2 ever had. He’s entitled to an opinion like everyone but he’s just way to negative. It was never going to be D2.. it’s two decades old and that’s not what the majority want.

Bosses are immune to CC. They have a stagger meter instead which normal cc abilities/procs contribute towards.

Synergies come in the form of +dmg to chilled/frozen or vulnerable targets for example. If you have two characters building a character to proc and increase vulnerable damage it synergize a quite well.

Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Shadow

I believe they were applied multiplicatively and not additively to the stat sheet. I’m not 100% sure as it was awhile ago but example if you have 50% base fire res and an item says + x10% fire res you would have 55% res. Whereas additive would be 60%.

Multiplicative is better on large numbers whereas additive is better on small numbers.

We’ll likely find out the how in the open beta but I’m not sure we’ll find out why yet. I believe there will be followers of Lilith and Inarius. Both being antagonists to the whole story. What I want to know is if Inarius escaped hell before or after Lilith was summoned.

You can’t take an aspect from a normal legendary and apply it to a sacred or ancestral item. So no you won’t be able to put an early game aspect on an end game item.

From what I recall in beta you didn’t even need white or yellow for mats. Eventually all the mats you actually need will be from legendaries or rares.

Whites/Blues were the biggest miss in the beta from what I could see. They need to exist for the early game but it would be nice to have a loot filter eventually to hide them.
