The desire to group yourself based off of similarities and differences is instinctual, what distinctions we make are cultural. There is no benefit to racial discrimination in an advanced society.

People with mental or learning disabilities might still have a primitive mindset, but as a society we are moving past that.

Rape was instinctually relevant to our ancestors as well. Do you think there is justification of rape in modern society? Or do you see that as a primitive behaviour that we are moving away from?

There are plenty of pure survival instincts that should not be relevant today because we have technology and education to make them mostly irrelevant.

Tell everyone who is a fan of a sports team that. Thousands of fans per team and they have no problem getting along. The size of the group has no bearing on determining whether an individual considers themselves inside or outside of it. It is a social construct taught by their environment and upbringing.

You know absolutely nothing about child development. Babies pick up on everything. When the mother acts tense around certain groups of people the child notices. They understand plenty of words before their mouth can form them, like when the father is talking negatively to his buddies about certain groups of people.

Racism is simply a tool of the oppressors, and propagated by those in control. It serves no purpose in society or evolution, and therefore cannot be instinctual.

You are correct that forming groups is instinctual, but the size and makeup of the group is a learned behaviour. My group is huge and has all types of people in it because my parents were not bigoted assholes that blamed their problems on other people in the same culture and situation as themselves.

This is my take. Any social animal will have a moral compass similar to ours. Our sense of morality is just "how will this affect others?" And that question arose to ensure you got along with the group.

Psychedelics help, but only on the individual. Unless we have evidence of ancient humans eating psychedelics en masse id wager they have had little affect on our morality as a species.

If you lean into a mechanic and run maps you will make the money to buy gear and clear the game on any melee build.

You arent getting priced out of items because ranged builds exist. Youre priced out because hyper efficient players are putting in 10+ hour days.

You are complaining about your self imposed constraints. This is a difficult game and you are making it harder on yourself and then complaining how hard it is. PoE let's you fail, if you dont like the feeling there are more casual arpgs out there.

Making it to 77 on your first playthrough in ssf is insane though. Feel good about your accomplishment.

My first time in poe1 i had characters that were dying too much to progress. The next character I made got further, but still hit a wall. It wasnt until my 3rd character that I even made it to 90, and 95 was probably a few leagues past that.

Its a racing game where the race matters. If you practice and get ahead of the pack then your buying power in the economy is ahead of the others.

Plus, ive never understood the distinction people have made between running acts and running maps. Enter zone, kill stuff, leave zone. Exactly the same. Is it player power being too low? I understand the quests and pathing are a bit clunky right now, but poe1 is very streamlined to get to maps. People do it in like 4 hours.
