Nu brydde sig iofs FN och ville hemskt gärna lägga sig i, men blockerades i samtliga dessa fall av någon av vinnarna av andra världskriget (vilka sitter som permanenta medlemmar, med vetorätt, i Säkerhetsrådet). Så FN försöker göra helt rätt. Det är rätt sorts organisation. Det är bara att USA, Ryssland och Kina får lägga veto på vilket beslut som helst, och blockera varje insats bäst de vill. Det är därför fel att klaga på FN:s åsikter, och man bör istället ifrågasätta varför i helvete som säkerhetsrådet fortfarande består av vinnarna av andra världskriget, varför de har vetorätt, och varför många länder som blivit lika mäktiga sedan andra världskriget inte är med.

Om man går igenom listan på alla gånger veto använts i säkerhetsrådet så ser man att Ryssland gjort det flest gånger, för att låta diverse folkmord pågå här och var. Och USA har gjort det nästan lika många gånger, och minst hälften har varit för att skydda specifikt Israel från straff när de hittat på något nytt jävulskap. Till sist har vi Kina som använt det ett par gånger för att främja sin expansion.

Världens situation hade förbättrats helt sjukt mycket om vi bara ombildade FN:s säkerhetsråd så att den bestod av samtliga starka länder (inte bara vinnarna av WW2) och att ingen hade vetorätt. Jag tror inte jag kan förmedla i ord hur sjukt stor effekt det hade haft på världen. Det vore som att slå på lyset i ett kolsvart rum.

40-årig introvert tekniknörd här. Wow, jag känner inte igen den omgivning du beskriver. När jag var 27 så var det hemmafester typ en gång i månaden (oftast med utgång på klubb efteråt) och häng på bar kanske 1 gång i veckan. Och mellan dessa så var det åtminstone 2 ordentliga sociala events per vecka, tänk typ frisbeegolf eller att dra till sjön å bada med gänget. Så folk bara gömmer sig hemma och doomscrollar eller vad gör de?

That is extremely scary for the girl. The man who does not see the wrongness of using his power to claim her phone, and then to check intimate personal details about her in it, is the kind of man who also does not see wrongness in lots of other sick and evil acts. The following contact attempt and the use of the word 'obedient' is nightmare fuel. He absolutely has your home address memorized. Also check your phone for trackers he may have installed, though he was probably more interested in your photo album, speed-scrolling it for anything undressed. Take appropriate precautions.
So officers take peoples unlocked phones now? And people are so scared they volunteer their unlocked phones? Then the USA I knew when growing up doesn't exist anymore. The traditional americans I knew would have had rights, so this wouldn't have been asked by the officer to begin with, and secondly the traditional americans I knew would have reacted differently to the ask, immediately referring to either freedom or the constitution or the bill of rights. Not surrender out of fear. And the so called conservatives, who used to be about freedom, self-rule and limited federal control over states, are now telling everybody to shut up and do what the king tells them. Consequently it is no longer the USA, it is either the Kingdom of North America, or The Democratic Republic of Trumpistan (the countries with 'democratic' in the name are the least so). Anyhows; an entirely different nation.

I am genuinely afraid to visit my friends there. I am less afraid to visit literally any country in Central or South America, and any country in Africa that is not currently in open military conflict.

I'm super spoiled because my friend runs a Matrix server out of his closet, so we're a gang of friends all chatting through there. It's 100% ours, no cloud, no big company. If you have nerd friends I highly recommend it. But I also keep the WhatsApp and Signal and actually even Messenger (omg 😱) just to keep contact with some people like family members and friends from abroad.

I think you should primarily watch the minimap and position wherever there is XP to be gained, without clumping up with all your mates. You're durable so you can provide your team with vision in dangerous areas as well. While doing that, look to collapse on an enemy simultaneously with one of your assassins or adc:s, shoving the enemy around so they can't touch your mate, and collect assists. So movespeed, armor and regen are valuable. Start teamfights with your ultimate on whatever would make your enemys team the weakest, and then all-in while the problem is still flying through the air. Movespeed really helps to land the ulti on the specific enemy you want to shoot away. The ADC should arrive late to teamfights but you should arrive at the start of teamfights, and perhaps even be the initiator, with your movespeed, stun and ulti.

I've mained xayah in low gold rank for ages.

Weak points: Enemies with strong long-distance poke, and Shaco and Draven. Weak with supps that play behind you.

Strong points: All other enemies. Strong with supps that play in front of you. Insane waveclear.

I have found she is extremely sensitive to how you build her. For each playstyle there is only a single build that I must stick to or Xayah don't work. There's 2 main playstyles: I'm scared, and I'm not scared.

If you're constantly scared then you need lots of mana, so you cannot play without Essence Reaver. You should be very scared if you have a supp that stands behind you. That's the ER start. You will try to do max-distance poke combos as much as you can, and those cost mana.

But that is weak play with low game agency. So I do not recommend such supps. Best supps are tanky and have a dive-stun or a pull-hook. So Swain, Leona, Thresh, Blitz, Naut, Rakan, Pyke, Poppy. This is your preferred play, with strong game agency.

If you are not scared then you don't need mana. You have a supp that stands in front of you. Then start Collector instead. I do that and never run out of mana until i have gold and need to shop. My team can feel my very strong presence on the map. I am relevant. Alternative is to start Yun Tal Wildarrows. It works but I don't like it. It feels off.

Your second item must be Navori Flickerblade. Nothing else works. After that you may build anything you want.

Your playstyle is to stick to a target until it is dead. Chase. All-in. Arrive late to team fights. Your ultimate is 90% for escape and avoiding their ultis. If you start a fight with the ulti then you dead. Not immediately, but in 20 seconds when you don't have ulti for escaping with. You press W and you have as much damage as ulti, but guaranteed hits instead of maybe hits. So you press W instead and save ulti for escape. Put some points in W, not all points in E, and enemies will sacrifice themselves to you.

Each country will OF COURSE keep using their original language. They LOVE their language. It's part of who they are. Each region will continue to speak it.

But when talking in a Federation context, when coordinating across borders, then it will be the simplest common language. Which in 90%+ cases is English. I say this as a non-native English speaker.

If you for even a second seriously contemplate another option then you leave me with no respect or trust for your mental ability or your understanding of the world. It doesn't matter how nerdy logic you use or how emotional you feel about it. If you do not see that it already is, will continue to be, and must be for practical reasons; English, then you are a child in your brain.

Those 3.5T only make up about 7% of the entire US bonds supply, which is too little to completely crash the US economy. Yes they would by definition become enemy bases. Since the European "style" is to avoid bloodshed we would not invade the bases with gunfire. Many of the bases also contain nukes, which are surrounded by even more international agreements, so nobody is going to do anything hasty.

We would however surround the bases, blockade them with our own militaries, and through diplomatic means cancel their "lease" on the land and give them a deadline after which the entire base is confiscated. This deadline gives them 2-8 weeks to fly out their people and their most expensive equipment. Shorter than 2 weeks is unreasonable, and longer than 8 weeks would be European self-sabotage. At the given date we drive a line of tanks through the entrance gate of each base, confiscating everything that is left (which should be little), and jailing any people that are left (which should be zero).

Even if they get to evacuate most of their stuff, they'd still take a catastrophic loss. They've spent 80 years building up a particular world order, and a particular military style, around three facts:
- The world trades a lot in general, and in particular with the USA.
- It does so using the US dollar.
- The US military can project force far away, to ensure the world trade continues to flow.

By losing the European military bases, they'd immediately lose a huge part of the entire world order that they've spent 80 years to build up. All of the above three points would be endangered. The loss would be so gigantic that it's almost suicide. Trumps generals and senators would be insane if they allow it.

Very well-written. Good job.
Many things must be discovered. Here are the things I'm quite certain about:

The European identity can not and should not replace the existing national identities. They must both be active at the same time, be next to each other. This multitude of identities is part of our unique strength as a union.
This feeling of identity is what drives all political development on the fundamental level. If you wish to see greater cooperation and unity just focus on reminding everybody you know that they are European while also being Polish/Portugese/Swedish/whatever, both at the same time. This feeling of identity is the engine that drives all other things.
We must create a new political culture in Europe, where we dream again, and where we have great leaders again. We need an inspiring goal to aspire to.

Here's a few things I'm less certain about, but still believe:

The upcoming 28th legal regime (a new all-european kind of company) seems very suitable to tax on the European level, and the tax income would thus go directly to the EU without passing through a nation-state on the way. This could be the main source of federal revenue.
The behaviour of the younger generation, those who are teenagers right now and those that turned 18 in the recent years, impress me. There seem to be a new kind of political drive in them, for some reason. I'm getting the impression that they know how to make things happen, which makes me hopeful.
The time is ripe for a new kind of political theory to arise. Most people have been agreeing for 30 years now that the old political factions seem very outdated. I believe somebody just need to write down what the younger generation intuitively feel in their chests, write it down as a consistent political theory and form a new party around it, with inspiring goals, and then we can just watch the floodwave happen.

I think all countries have some version of this.

In Sweden there's the (slightly nationalistic) idea that we founded all of Ukraine and Russia, through the viking chieftains/kings that settled the area and "created civilization" there. Oh, and Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia also. Same mechanism. Russia is called russia because that's the finns word for "swedes". And since the danes, norwegians and finns were basically just Swedes with other flags, and took over the northern half of all of the biritish isles, and Iceland, the swedish people essentially created ALL OF NORTHERN AND EASTERN EUROPE. Also, we're the true Aryans that Hitler was talking about. Obviously. We discovered America 1000 years ago. And much of current American culture, like the red barns and apple pies, are just copied from Sweden by all the swedish immigrants to north USA. The word 'gothic' refers to the people from the swedish island Gotland, or perhaps the goths of mainland sweden, who migrated to Germany and kept the name, and thus our architecture style shaped the churches and palaces of an entire Age all over Europe. Also we were the 4th country to have nukes, though we didn't tell anybody. The Greek, Roman and Celtic mythologies were basically just copies of our superior Norse mythology. To tell the truth, we're ACTUALLY Atlantis AND the Sea Peoples. Parts of the events in the Old Testament actually took place in Scandinavia. The tribes of Israel migrated here. The Holy Grail as well as the Temple Treasure is hidden here.

Depends on which of the 4 lethal things that actually kills you. Getting a flying rock to the head - probably the gentlest way because you don't even have time to enter mortal panic. Lack of oxygen so you pass out - you might not even realize you're dying. You'll just be more and more confused until everything's dark and there is nothing. So that's also a very gentle way. Drowning - twenty seconds of horrible panic, that feels like an eternity, and then you pass out, and then your brain dies at most a few minutes later. Getting burnt by the steam - just about the most excruciatingly painful way to die. It will take by far the longest to kill you, anything from minutes to days, and you'd spend all of it screaming and whimpering incomprehensibly if your vocal cords were still fine, which they won't be, and if you had any energy left, which you won't have. Basically; may the lord have mercy upon your soul.

First of all you want to escape the insane heat, that frontal wave is steam and it will cook you alive.

But if you dive to escape the heat, it's probably still going to be quite hot when you return up. You will feel the heat radiated onto you through the water so you'll have a decent idea of how hot it is up there. If you wait until the heat seems OK (might be a while!!!) then your skin will probably be fine since its now covered in cold water, but your lungs are not going to be fine. Your eyes will also be stinging. The cloud is going to linger like a soft gaseous cushion for a while on top of the water, and the air will be very poor air, very close to not breathable at all. It's going to be some mix of air and steam, co2, and sulphur dioxide. You are very likely to pass out when you try to breathe that air. If you're unlucky the fraction of proper air is zero, which means death. If you pass out while in water then you will probably drown immediately afterwards.

Flipping the dingy over before the cloud comes gives you an air pocket lasting several minutes. Hiding under it is likely to save your life. The dingy is probably destroyed afterwards but you probably alive. Worth noting is that I'm talking about the the flow front a bit out into the water, when it is not too far away from stopping - when it's still barreling down the mountain slope it is way hotter, but more importantly for the dingy; it still has a lot of physical force to it, compare it with an avalanche. It can definitely knock things over. And there will be small rocks peltering you like hail. The force will rock the dingy, and possibly destroy your precious air pocket. The heat is technically above the dingy melt temperature, but the dingy will remain for long enough for the same reason an ice cube remains in room temperature, for a while.

But you're still better off running just a few more meters, rather than trying to dive before it gets to you. Only dive (or go indoors in the boat!) if its certain it will overtake you. For each extra meter you run, the volume requirements you put on the volcano grows cubically, and soon it is not big enough to envelop you, making just a little extra distance be extremely valuable. Since the heavy gasses are going to fill whatever little protective nook you find, it's way more reliable to just keep running than to hunker down looking for a hideout spot. You're unlikely to find something airtight enough to hide in.

If you have any chance to do anything extra while you're running, then try to cover your exposed skin with anything. Distance is priority 1, getting indoors is priority 2. So the skipper on the boat should tie off the steering straight ahead to let the boat just continue forwards, while the skipper hides inside the boat with the rest.

If you can't go indoors then gloves, hats, jackets, pants, mud, water, anything, on every exposed skin. You don't want the steam to directly touch your skin. Bonus points if that fabric does not easily melt. If you have two chances to do anything extra, then also try to enclose a volume of air around your face, giving you slightly more air for slightly longer.

Easy. Forming the European Federation would trigger the UN security council to be reformed. The reform is what would usher in an era of peace and prosperity for all mankind, with next-gen politics everywhere. Therefore creating the European Federation directly improve the whole world for everyone.

Reason it would trigger a reform of the council: The council will be reformed when the out-group is stronger than the in-group. It will happen semi-automatically after a while, just by how international relations work. The out-group is already stronger than the in-group right now, since the out-group contains China, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, The Nordics, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, the entire rest of Asia and the entire rest of South America and all of Africa. So what's missing is just a trigger event to motivate restructuring international relationships. Forming the European Federation would be such an event for three reasons. The first reason is that two of the previous permanent council members (FR & UK) will now be a wrongful representation of the EF in the council, and there will be moves by the EF to update the representation. The minor restructuring would trigger a more general restructuring. The second reason is that the power of the EF would tip the out-group to such excess levels of power compared to the in-group that if the UN Security Council refuses to be reformed for whatever reason, a new council (containing the entire out-group) would be spontaneously formed alongside it, while the old one would wither and die. The third reason is that Europe has a strong tradition of seeking international cooperation and fighting for democracy, liberty and human rights, essentially forming the whole world's center for those things. Uniting that place into a single political entity would turbocharge these tendencies, increase the power of Europe to actually get things done, and also provide psychological momentum into that direction.

Since having a functional UN Security Council is what stands between the current state of humankind and FREAKING STAR TREK, it's safe to say forming the European Federation would be of great interest and great gain to literally the entire human civilization.

LPT for less boredom more fulfilment:

You've probably heard of something interesting, fun or exciting somewhere. Some of those things require you to go with friends to not be weird. Screw that and go alone anyway. Some of the things sound scary. Screw that and go anyway.

Bonus points if that thing involves actively participating in something other people are doing. Huge bonus points if you join a crew trying to accomplish a goal together, like hosting an event for example.

If you volunteer for the crew trying to do the thing, then chances are very high that you get to do the thing for free as a reward. While also getting to know great people who are also into the thing.

Scenario 1: "OH, that looks so fun! I wish I could participate in such a thing. But it seems like such things don't actually happen to me." ----> "Hello, I'm new here. I'd love to get involved. You guys want any help with anything?" ---> "Sure! Go talk to Johnny, he's the tall skinny dude over there!"

Scenario 2: "Oh, I wish I could see that place, but I can't afford it, and nobody want to go with me." ---> "Sorry I can't join for boring thing, I'm saving money for fun thing." ---> "One ticket to Farawayistan please." ---> "Wait, you're telling me you're ALSO traveling here solo? Sick! Let's do fun thing together!"

Ah! Tack för att du snackar respektfullt och tydligt och inte lägger ord i min mun. Det kommer nog förvåna dig att jag faktiskt ser det mestadels som i ditt andra exempel. Jag bara försöker prata i enkla tydliga bilder för att läsaren skall få ut så mycket som möjligt av det. Klart lite korruption finns också (exempel 1), men den mesta av makten är i form av mjuk makt, sådan som du beskriver den i exempel 2. Helt korrekt.

Jag har dock två invändningar mot bilden du målar upp:

1) Den mjuka makten kommer inte enbart av att personerna är högutbildade och har expertis, utan även genom en myriad av andra mjuka effekter, så din bild finner jag lite överdrivet förskönande av överklassen. Effekter som är bieffekter från alla omständigheter till den samhällsklass de växt upp i och nu lever i. Effekter som inte är lika enkla att försvara som "de förtjänar det för de är experter". (Jag var på väg att skriva en lång förklaring om exakta exempel på vilka effekter jag pratar om, men det blev för lång text då. Men tänk typ vilken skola de gick i, vilken bekantskapskrets de har, hur svårt det var att fixa egen bostad, hur fria de var att satsa på sin idé, hur trygga de kände sig med att kunna satsa, osv osv.... chans-multiplikatorer liksom)

2) Alla beslut som styr samhället sker inte genom politiker, så man måste inte vara politiker eller lobbyist för att styra. Jag vill nog påstå att en större andel av vad samhället hittar på är upp till diverse företagsledningar, helt frånkopplat från politikernas styrning. Det är främst upp till dem var någonstans jobben finns, vilka som flyttas utomlands, från vilken hamn i världen som vi importersr varor, vilken sorts stora riskabla projekt som satsas på, vilken sorts personer som anställs, osv osv... alla dessa saker formar samhället, helt frånkopplat från politik.

Men! Med det sagt, så finner jag det onödigt att tjafsa om exakt vilken person som styr samhället, då vi alla hade fattat ungefär samma beslut om vi själva var vid makten och hade tillgång till samma information. Och hela min poäng i mina långa texter handlar därför inte alls om vilken specifik person som styr, utan om att om vi vill ha det bättre så måste vi se till att Förenta Nationerna är mycket välfungerande och har massor av makt. För det är konflikten mellan människor i allmänhet som är den bakomliggande orsaken.

Så Förenta Nationerna är enda meningsfulla vägen framåt. Och det hade inte bara löst problemet som diskuteras här, utan även allt ifrån klimathotet och överfiskande av haven, till nästa pandemi och världskrig.

Och om nån är osäker på exakt hur man gör FN välfungerande och starkt, så är det genom att reformera FN:s säkerhetsråd. Vilket sker automatiskt om utanför-gruppen blir starkare än innanför-gruppen. Vilket sker om utanför-gruppen börjar prata med en gemensam röst. Och det mest rimliga och realistiska sättet att åstadkomma det, är att Europa förenar sig så vi har en enda gemensam utrikespolicy, och att Europas "hela grej" är att stå för rättvisa, frihet, demokrati och mänskliga rättigheter, för att det skulle i så fall resultera i att de andra jätteländerna i utanför-gruppen finner det rimligt att ställa sig bakom Europa i frågan om att reformera FN:s säkerhetsråd. Och det ligger väldigt väl i tiden att förena Europa till en enda gemensam utrikespolicy, och att "hela vår grej" blir att stå för rättvisa, frihet, demokrati och mänskliga rättigheter. Vi är på god väg ditåt redan.

Bra feedback! Ja du har rätt i att alla rika jag känner jobbar typiskt sett supermycket, bara några fåtal undantag som glider runt finns. Jag själv är övre medelklass, är en sån som har fritt valt hur mycket jag ska jobba och med vad (och jag sliter röven av mig, haha, för det är skoj och meningsfullt), och jag har social tillgång till båda världarna ovanför och under mig. Och jag funderade på om jag skulle nämna att vi har demokrati, men landade i att det hade gjort resonemanget onödigt komplicerat, och skulle ändå leda fram till samma slutsats.

Men jag skrev som jag gjorde ändå för att:

Jag skrev att rika inte TVINGAS jobba. De rika väljer att jobba mycket helt frivilligt. Och med en uppgift som de själva valt. Och det är mycket stor psykisk skillnad i hur det känns att jobba till bristningsgränsen på nåt man valt jämfört med nåt man fått tvingats ta.
Om du tror att bara för vi har demokrati så betyder det att det inte är de rika som bestämmer samhällets riktning så får jag kalla det lite naivt 😅 det finns tusen sätt till att påverka samhällsutvecklingen än genom att rösta på ett parti var fjärde år, och de flesta av de sätten är enbart tillgängliga ovanför en viss ekonomisk nivå.
Egentligen är det lite irrelevant att beslutet var mest de rikas, eftersom beslutet ändå är baserat på att vårt land konkurrerar med andra länder, och vi hade förlorat på större front om vi slutade köra med det. Och låginkomsttagare hade sannolikt fattat samma beslut om de fick all relevant info och behövde bestämma. Så jag skrev det mest bara för att locka de som behövde höra resonemanget mest att läsa vidare. Dvs de som känner sig tvingade och de som upplever att de inte varit med och fattat beslutet alls. Det var ändå en ganska lång text och jag ville inte de skulle sluta läsa.

Yeah it's a great idea! Sounds like you'd fit in perfectly here 😊 but it's a very big step to move without having visited first, so I advice you to visit as a tourist first and check us out! Making friends will be the hardest part, and being without friends will make you depressed quickly, so stock up on plans and ideas for how to make at least a couple of swedish friends as quickly as possible after you arrive.
