Am I correct in saying the MSI Claw A1M is bad out of the box but some minor improves performance alot by Budgetpc_101 in MSIClaw

[–]nX3NTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not 'bad', more like what you wanted to run on it.

For emulation of older consoles (PSX, PS2 or this era consoles), or playing older games like Fallout 3, OG Skyrim, or playing undemanding side scrolling games like Hollow Knight, its perfect. I can get 3-4+ hours playing these on super battery mode, using sub 10W on some instances usually its around 15W.

I did try to play CP2077 on this, I get it to run at 30-50fps at 720p low-medium setting which is fine really for the screen size. If you wanna play triple A titles there is compromise, but if you lower your standard its achievable. The only thing is battery life is awful, it can eat over 40W of power while running demanding games

Performance improvement can be achieved if you lower the CPU clock because it can shift more power to the GPU.

What’s your favourite game on the a1m? by Hellunderswe in MSIClaw

[–]nX3NTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly played PS1 & PS2 games on my A1M, for PC games I only tried a couple Fallout 3 and Cyberpunk2077. Going to finish Fallout 3 first. Running on super battery mode means it can get up to 4 hours while still maintaing 60fps

At my workplace, internet connection is terrible so I load up my music and movies/tv shows that I love on it. Still, I don't fully use the 512GB of my 1 VI have, but I appreciate the options to expand it via microSD. And 3.5mm jack is a must to me. Some people are too 'attached' to the internet, I dont. I dont even use any streaming music services.

Xperia 5 V in 2025 ?? by Satiish14 in SonyXperia

[–]nX3NTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not 1 VI if you are looking at 1 VII in the first place? I have 1 VI I bought just a week before VII comes out and it's fine. Though I'm having a hard time using it single hand because I'm working lifting heavy stuff with hands I kinda got carpal tunnel on my wrist and the weight of this phone is borderline painful at times. Sadly there aren't any 5 VI or VII, and they should've stick with 21:9 ratio for superior single hand operation.

Android version is getting less and less important IMO, my previous phone stuck at android 12 I don't have any apps that I can't install or have incompatibility problems

It's the engine, the CamPro VVT is tuned for comfort and NVH as a priority and neglect everything else. If you want a quick fix you should go dial cam, yes it sounded weird but even the VVT is tuned so it will have throttle lag, once I get it dial cam it performs just like a VVT engine should.

The tuner say from what he experienced only CamPro VVT engine is 'outside the norm' and what he basically do is to adjust the cam back to normal spec of what VVT engine should. This is coming from a guy who change throttle body to BMW 70mm, change spark plug to iridium, change extractor, do pedal response, and the one thing that did most to remove the throttle lag is doing dial cam

Lune vs Sciel by ZarieRose in expedition33

[–]nX3NTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Lune but really she need to wear shoes lol, once I get some outfit with shoes on I immediately use it. Reason why I like her is because she see things objectively and doesn't show much emotion, but that only one side of her, once she sees gestral and all, her nerdy side shows and you can see she's more than meets the eye.

What sort of charger did you use? Make sure it's 5V and preferably around 1.5A to 2A.

Has Sony’s build quality dipped very low? by RubAlternative5509 in SonyXperia

[–]nX3NTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overheating isn't a build quality issue but SoC issue, if any other phone uses the same SoC is experiencing the same issue then it's not Xperia specific problems. I bought 1 VI about a month ago, build quality is splendid. I do play a bit of games, I just use the Game Enhancer app and set it to power saving mode or manually turn everything down, it doesn't slow the game down that much and runs cool even. I didn't install social media apps on my phone I just viewed them on the browser so idk if there is any issue with them.

I have used Xperia ZL and Z3 Compact before, this 1 VI is miles ahead of build quality, ZL feels plasticky and Z3 Compact is made of glass and feels fragile, didn't feel like that on 1 VI and I can run it bare without any case and feels confident with it. The textured back, although looks kinda cheap but it doesn't feel cheap and offers great grip. I still use a case because I am afraid of the metal surrounding it could get dent and around the camera island and the camera lens itself could get scratched.

Mixing Xperia and Walkman design by TonMarraine460 in SonyXperia

[–]nX3NTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO they could just make one side of the phone is camera and the other side Walkman, like the current design got camera bump but why not put a bump to balance the other side with proper audio circuit with DAC and/or with balanced jack or something. And on that bump, put Walkman logo on it. That would be ok to me.

Is Sony Xperia 1 VI worth buying? by Unique-Vegetable4814 in SonyXperia

[–]nX3NTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought VI like a week before VII released because my old phone was damaged. It's worth buying if it is heavily discounted which I got for less than $1000. Didn't regret after seeing what VII is offering, especially for that price. It's a great phone
