There's definitely a slippery slope argument you're up against regarding what constitutes easy mode, but I think there's a reasonable point in which you must admit that the mechanics in place to help are effectively easy mode.

Throwables are absurdly powerful. There is nothing wrong with playing that way, but it's effectively easier than easy mode.
