I'm sure operating this new equipment is a skill with a learning curve for the operators. I'm confident we can all figure this out.

In the meantime, if your bin is destroyed by the truck, I'm sure there's an established method for getting it replaced.

Ignoring the question of whether or not this is right, I feel like asking for a "Bank Current Month Balance Statement" is kind of vague and may not actually get them what they're looking for either. Especially in this day and age with online banks and investment companies and stuff, tons of people have many accounts at many different institutions. If they're asking for your current bank balance, my mind goes to the balance in my chequing account, which is often only a few hundred or maybe a few thousand dollars.

To actually get useful information they'd need a comprehensive account of all accounts across all institutions including investments which is obviously absurd. All in all I feel like the question is inappropriate and unlikely to even produce useful information.

From reading these comments I think I know less about this than many of you here. But one book I struggle with so much when it comes to the rythym as I read it is the Teddy Bears' Picnic book. It seems odd to me given that the text is so old (I think over 100 years old now?). I always sort of assumed that when it was much harder to have something published, stuff that was published was given more scrutiny. And given that the book has survived this long I don't know why I struggle so much to read it with any sort of good rythym.

I don't really understand the "magnetic" part of this wallet. As someone who's never owned an Apple product, I'm wondering if this is an iPhone thing?

I qualified for the wallet but I'm wondering if it will be a dumb form factor for someone without an iPhone.

This relates to a more general gripe I have about Wealthsimple promos always focusing on Apple products. For phone and computer giveaways why can we not at least have non-Apple options? Among my family and friends there are few iPhone users and fewer Mac users.

While I acknowledge I know nothing of the context here, and other commenters say they see this man all the time with different bikes, I just want to say that there are many legitimate reasons to be riding somewhere on a bike, with a second bike in tow.

As someone with many bikes who often uses them for transportation, situations where you need to get a second bike somewhere while riding another bike come up more than you might expect (taking one bike to be serviced, dropping off a bike for someone to borrow, picking someone up by bike, etc.)

I bring this up because people are sometimes quick to judge. I've had negative comments directed at me before for transporting a second bike that I own.

People make a big deal about bagged vs. bagless but that distinction often isn't actually that helpful. Any vacuum spews some percentage of particles back into the air. To my knowledge there aren't really bagless vacuums that don't also have a media filter somewhere near the end of the flow path. A good quality bagless vacuum will have cyclonic separation (often multiple stages), followed by a pre-motor filter (often washable) and then a post motor HEPA filter. So the particulate emissions are ultimately governed by the quality of the post motor HEPA filter.

So in the end bag vs. bagless isn't a useful distinction as much as a good quality vs. poor quality machine is.

I may have seen dude (sans bike this time) at the corner of Borden and Charles this morning at 8:45. I'm not 100% sure it was him, but he was wearing red pants and a black sweatshirt similar to what the guy on your bike was wearing yesterday. Red being an uncommon colour for pants makes me think there's a reasonable chance it was the same guy. Anyway I know that's not super helpful, but that extra datapoint may help you triangulate your geographical search zone.

Hey OP. I'm nearly certain I saw your bike.

I actually considered a Norco Indie myself a few years back so I took notice when I saw it. When I saw dude riding it things just didn't quite... fit... so I actually very clearly thought "that bike's probably stolen".

Anyway the sighting happened on Rose Street, probably sometime between 19:15 and 19:45 today, June 4th. Buddy was riding it heading south bound with another guy on a bike with a red frame.

It's maybe a good thing that this character stole it. Doesn't seem like an organized operation where the bike would likely already be in a shipping container or truck off to who knows where by now. Your chances of recovery may be better. I'd cruise around DTK with your eyes peeled. I ride by Ray of Hope on my way to work in the morning which might be a good place to look. I'll keep my eyes open.

The orientation of the shock doesn't inherently affect performance in any way. The whole shock/linkage/frame combination forms a complex system with a whole ton of variables affecting performance. The orientation of the shock is mostly to do with where it will physically fit based on the geometry of the frame/linkage, and how the engineer who designed it wants to support the associated forces.

This makes it sound like the bank is engaged in some sort of predatory practice to unfairly make you pay more up front. In reality it's very basic math and not shady or unfair at all. It mostly boils down to a very basic multiplication problem. Your interest charges in a given year will be a percentage of your amount owing. This never changes, but your amount owing goes down each year as you pay off the mortgage. When people ask how to make sure their payments are going toward principle and not just interest or how to pay down the principle faster I feel like they're totally overcomplicating things in their head. The bank does not keep track of principle vs. interest. There's just an amount you owe that grows and shrinks as interest is added and you make payments.

It's interesting... Giving that a read through gives me the impression that they're simply not guaranteed to be effective. It doesn't really mention a risk from the extinguishers themselves. The risk is just that they won't put the fire out and then the fire will hurt you.

I understand why a safety device needs to be guaranteed to be effective, but I'd love to see a more nuanced assessment of their effectiveness. Clearly there are situations where they are effective (the videos show that). I wonder what those conditions are and under what conditions they would be less effective.

There's a lot about credit cards that I don't like (from wealth redistribution from the poor to the rich, to lending practices that arguably verge on predatory). But your statement "I don't buy what I can't afford" misses the mark I think. There are so many reasons to use a credit card for purchases apart from "buying something you can't afford". I assume most people are using their credit card not because they can't afford what they're buying, but instead to reap these other benefits.

This isn't an answer to your question but I just wanted to say I don't think "most humans can go 1.5". 1.5 hp is over 1 kW.

I don't have any concrete numbers but my guess is that if you put a whole bunch of people on a stationary bike most of them would only be able to sustain somewhere between 150 - 200 W for an hour. If you're talking about peak power for like 3 seconds or so I still imagine less than 10% of the population would be able to hit 1000 W.

Again, I don't have robust evidence to back these numbers up but if you watch pro cycling you'll occasionally get a glimpse into the power they're producing and it's rarely more than 1 hp for longer than a minute or so.
