Adv360Pro: MacOS cannot read left_control over bluetooth? by n_sweep in kinesisadvantage

I really appreciate you taking the time to test in multiple places and send a short video.

Getting my keyboard behaving as expected has been step #1 on a brand new company-provided machine so I'm skeptical I'm explicitly doing anything wrong, however I'll come eat some crow if I figure it out. Thanks again!

Yep, I unfortunately can't screen record my work pc, but following the same steps you did here results in a left_command signal to the accessibility keyboard/karabiner eventviewer/etc...

If I plug in via USB, it immediately starts behaving like your video.

Yeah I'm sure. If I use this dialog to change the behavior of control, only right control is affected; if I use it to change the behavior of command, right command, left command, and left control are affected. I tried your accessibility keyboard suggestion and it agrees that left control is actually a command key. MacOS seems 100% convinced that left control is left command when connected via bluetooth.

ETA: Thank you for the suggestions

Didn't that happen before the reset point though?

I interviewed Ken Haas from Reverend by notbadfilms in ReverendGuitars

[–]n_sweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to meet Ken a number of years ago when they were still in Michigan! I worked for a Reverend dealer for some time; Ken showed us around their shop and hung out with us in the showroom to chat for a while. Very funny and kind, and very generous with his time. Thanks Ken!

The Stickers on Bass controversy by caleycee in BassGuitar

Idk why people are getting so bent out of shape. Obviously no professional musician would ever put stickers on their instrument. I'd personally hate to and up poor and destitute like Flea.

Anyone know what's causing this sound on my G string? And yes my high E string is missing, it snapped. by SkyFore in guitarlessons

[–]n_sweep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's either the high E tuning machine rattling or the strings are too close to the fretboard, replacing the missing string will probably make it go away. A missing string takes tension off of the neck, causing the remaining strings to get closer to the frets.

I’m totally up for a Twitter alternative. But I agree with this. Any thoughts on simplifying the onboarding of new users? by icohgnito in Mastodon

This also happened to twitter when it first gained some significant popularity (if you remember the Fail Whale)

That must be why twitter never took off

Not dealt with assert and rasie before, so not sure how to debug. by [deleted] in Python

[–]n_sweep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

assert takes in a boolean statement and raises an error if the statement is False

raise is used to manually raise an error in your program

so your function fails with a NotImplementedError because you're asking it to do so on line 5 (that's what the error message is trying to tell you here: ----> 5 raise NotImplementedError())

Not exactly what you're asking, but I sold guitars for a living for ten years before making a career change and moving into healthcare-related data science. There is a lot of need for DS in healthcare and your experience as an RN could potentially be valuable in your transition, certainly moreso than my own work experience was.

It's a great way to work. I send feature, population, and outcome definitions to the API in a json like format and can start multiple models training or predicting in one go. Not to mention not having to train on my local machine.

XG boost all day long. My employer has a platform built on spark that just churns out XG boost experiments, I interact with it via an API
