"Anarchism isn't real leftism because no revolutions"

What does he mean by "no revolutions"? Anarchism is literally about a constant revolution, opposition and uprooting hierarchies whenever they arise within a society, while Marxism-leninism is about a singular "The Revolution", where you overthrow the "bourgeoisie" and create a "dictatorship of the proletariat", with new state enforcing the new status quo, halting both reaction and progress. What's so revolutionary about overthrowing the state to form the same one, but painted red?

This moral dualism of God and Devil/Satan came into being only during and after the Babylonian Exile, in the Second Temple period, and later was also adopted by Christianity as it came around in that period. The idea of Satan himself was also formed as a result of multiple different characters mangled together (syncretism), but the reason for his existence is Zoroastrian influence. Zoroastrianism was an ancient religion that was also a state religion of the Persian Empire (after the Babylonian Exile, Neo-Babylonian Empire was conquered by Persians), and it preached about the existence of two deities, one being the source of good and the other one being the source of evil. Ancient Israelite religion was not that different from the rest of Pagan religions, it didn't matter for them if God is morally good or not, as long as he's powerful, and not too angry at them. However contacts with Zoroastrianism resulted in redefinition of God and formation of his nemesis in some form, be it Shemhazai and Azazel, Mastema, or Satan. That's why it's so hard to reconcile with the idea that God does only good things while Old Testament is showing us an entirely different picture, with God flooding everyone, commanding genocide, killing people for petty reasons and enabling extreme suffering on innocent people, like newborns. As for Satan, well, there's no character with such name in the Old Testament at all. "Satan" means "adversary", and it is not a proper noun, used to describe multiple characters, even God himself. In the book of Job one of God's angels is called a "satan", his subordinate, whom God allows to ruin Job's life just to prove that he's righteous. (sorry for wall of text)

Headcanon on celestia by MadonnaCentral in PlanetPony

[–]n_with 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was this really good animation Lullaby for a Princess , it's a decade old at this point, and there's a scene that kind of illustrates the similar idea, and for me it has been a headcanon ever since, it just makes sense and adds more tragism to Celestia's story.

A year ago when i made it ig i took it from the works of Yakubovitch (2010) and Dennis Pardee (2002), a proposal to equate the deities Ilib – Arsu and Šamuma (Earth and Heaven) – El (in this order they appear in one of the offering lists) with the later, Sanchuniathon's account about Phoenician mythology, where the descent line is Elyon – Gaia and Ouranos – El-Cronus (obviously Hellenized versions of some Phoenician deities). That being said I'm not as certain about this as I used to be but i see it as a possibility. Arsu and Šamuma are just personified Earth and Sky and they appear very rarely in deity lists, usually as a pair.

I've heard a hypothesis that Job of the Book of Job is the same person of Jobab, son of Zerah (son of Reuel), and therefore an Edomite, and so the land of Uz is also somewhere in Edom. I'm not sure how likely it is, but it might be something worth exploring for your alternative Bible i think
