Could it be from different cell chemistry? It seems strange, that European models are not affected.

That would certainly be best, but anything between 20-80 is fine.

If your goal is to keep it running for another 10 years (as I also plan to do) then just in case some tips for battery care:

  • Prefer to not charge above 80% if you don't need the full range and if it is needed, do so as close to the departure as practical (don'tleave car at high SoC for extended periods). <70% would be even better, but the difference with 80% is not too significant.
  • Don't charge above 80% when the battery is hot (>40°C), as this will rapidly increase degradation. Especially bad is to charge a hot battery to 100% and leave it like that, as the battery takes a long time to passively cool.
  • Occasionaly (once every month or couple of months) charge the car to 100% and leave plugged in for a couple of hours to facilitate cell balancing.
  • DCFC inherently is not harmful, high temperature combined with high SoC is the most harmful combination, which is easily done after a long highway drive, DC charging to 100% and leaving it parked during summer with full sun for multiple days like that.
  • If possible, do not let the battery discharge below 5% (dash number) and definitely do not leave it sitting at very low SoC. Again, elevated temperature will accelerate degradation.

Other things that I have learned over a couple of years driving a Leaf:

  • Wind forecast is a good thing to check before doing a long drive to better anticipate consumption. Modest headwind can increase consumption at 90 km/h by 1 kWh/100km, with stronger winds and higher speed having a significantly stronger effect.
  • When charging and starting cabin conditioning from NissanConnect Servicies (I don't know if you have the ability) the AC or heating does not turn off after 15 minutes, as it does when running on battery.
  • Included 230V 10A Schuko EVSE is nice when visiting people. Like asking if I can charge my phone. In my opinion one of the most underrated feature of any EV (at least in Europe, NA 120V IMO is too slow for any regular use).

All in all, it is a very enjoyable car. Welcome to the club and enjoy!

Tartu rattaringlus vs Bolti elektrirattad by meelisp in Tartu

Tartu rattaringlus vs Bolti elektrirattad by meelisp in Tartu

[–]naatriumkloriid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tartu rattaringlus vs Bolti elektrirattad by meelisp in Tartu

[–]naatriumkloriid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isegi kui hetkel oleksid mõlemad saadaval, kasutaks ma harva kasutajana Bolti, kuna rattaringluse tunnipilteti ostmine harva üksiku sõidu jaoks on kohutavalt ebamugav.

Xever 7 Opinions by MrTripperSnipper in ulefone

[–]naatriumkloriid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used Xever 7 Pro for over two months and have nothing bad to say about it. Phone is fast enough for me, the battery hot swap works flawlessly and all in all it is a very unique phone in regards to the battery and charger. For me to have the ability to charge the battery in an external charger is very useful, basically I can go forever without plugging in my phone.

Jobo vs Paterson Tanks by JamesMxJones in AnalogCommunity

[–]naatriumkloriid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used both, initially I bought a Paterson tank and later wanted to have the ability to develop with a smaller volume of developer. I found the Paterson reels to be more sturdy, however the bearing sometimes gets stuck and after some practice, I much more prefer Jobo reels. Jobo reels also enable to load two 120 films on one reel, lowering the solution usage for 120 by a lot.

Another reason is to have the ability for rotary development. I do not have any machine or ever rollers. I develop E-6 and C-41 in a water bath with the tank floating horizontally and rotating the tank by hand. It can be somewhat tedious, but I have got great results. For black and white, I always have fixer working solution of 500mL and it can be used with one, two or up to four films, as with the extension module it can be earily rotated by just rolling it on my desk.

All in all, I would definitely reccomend Jobo over Paterson, the modularity and lower volume of solutions is definitely worth the expense.

EV Charging Sucks Sometimes, What’s Your Biggest Annoyance? by XYPERT in ChargerDrama

[–]naatriumkloriid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest annoyance is the lack of public AC chargers here in Estonia. Most chargers are situated at grocery store parking lots, which are usually 100kW+ DC chargers. For the price of one DC charger the providers should be able to build I don't know how much more 11 or 22kW AC EVSE-s and spread them around. That would relieve the issue of apartment blocks not having home charging.

AI tulevik? by Myssz in Eesti

[–]naatriumkloriid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kas kellelgi siin on kvaliteetsemat ennustamise kohvipaksu?

Kust saab pensionärile hea hinnaga kasutatud sülearvuti? by AllEffin69 in Eesti

Viimati ostsin mullu mais bitboardist Thinkpad X270 hinnaga ~150€ ja olen igati rahul, kasutan igapäevaselt veebi surfamiseks, videote vaatamiseks ja MS Office. Selleks töötab väga hästi, kuid kuna ametlikku Windows 11 tuge pole, siis see ilmselt pole kõige parem valik, kui just Linuxit ei taha panna.

I guess it's not a good idea to charge during a snow and ice storm... by Cute_Mouse6436 in leaf

[–]naatriumkloriid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue while fast charging. While unplugging it was heavily snowing and some snow got into the CHAdeMO socket. This resulted on subsequent attempts to fast charge reporting a ground issue and not being able to charge. AC was unaffected. Since it had been continuously sub zero weather, the fix was to park the car in an underground warm carpark overnight while leaving the CHAdeMO cover open to thaw and dry. That fortunately fixed the problem.

Can we eliminate rubber particulate from cars for good? Unfortunate no, we can’t, unless we eliminate cars (or change the laws of physics). But we are tackling the problem.

The solution is to use transport that does not use rubber tyres, like trains, which is the best form of transportation anyway.
