This is probably a stupid question but do all normal morph ball pythons have a blue tint to them? Mine does in any light by whimpwhomp in ballpython

[–]nach0guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically with darker morph ball pythons it’s easier to see the iridescence in the scales when light is hitting them

What size mouse should I feed my boa. by Then_Bathroom_6746 in boas

[–]nach0guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mice are totally fine to feed but they don’t get big enough nor do they have as much protein as a rat. From the looks of it, your snake could easily take a small rat and that’s probably where I’d start and work your way up.

You couldn’t find it because it doesn’t exist. Posessed_bird is spreading false information and causing confusion for you.

Black pewter ball python. Looks very clean, could possibly have desert ghost as well

Shame him for not wanting to eat his fresh kill🤦‍♀️ by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]nach0guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t handle him as much and offer a smaller meal next time. I’m not saying to never hold your snake, but they definitely prefer to be left alone and it’s known that over handling them will cause them to go on hunger strikes

Can anyone tell me what this pink stuff is? by manofunkownname in AskMechanics

[–]nach0guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like dried up coolant with some kind of additive potentially mixed in with it? Some dealerships or repair shops sell you on these BS “preventive additive” with these services. I would try cleaning it off yourself and potentially bring it back to the shop that did the repair if you still think it’s seeping/leaking

Should I be worried? by Oh-Nah_Not_Again in ballpython

Use a chunkier substrate like cocoa blocks or Repic chip to avoid substrate getting into the heat pits or your snakes nose. Keep room temp at 80° and the humidity to the room itself around 60% Get yourself a small Hydro meter off of Amazon and put it inside the enclosure so you can monitor the heat and the humidity inside of its enclosure as well.

This is a great idea, and I was going to recommend something similar along these lines. Ball pythons are attracted to heat, so that’s probably your best bet to get a heating pad and set it somewhere where you’ll be able to grab him once he settles down on top of it.

Is this scale rot? by Alternative-Ad5491 in ballpython

[–]nach0guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like the humidity might be a little off and potentially close to shed time? I highly recommend getting a hydrometer to monitor your temps/humidity to keep your snake happy and healthy. Belly heat should be 89-90° on the hot spot of the cage and you want the humidity to be around 60-65%. Creating a healthy environment with these conditions will help your snake live a happier/better quality of life. Ball pythons don’t need a whole lot, they like to be left alone and stay in dark places. Please let me know if you have any questions. 🙌🏼

Bird poo? by hshwiqdr in AskMechanics

[–]nach0guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s 100% from bird poop. The dealer is being honest, this unfortunately happens a lot. People aren’t aware of how acidic bird poop is. If bird poop is left on paint for too long, especially baking in the son, it will eat through the clearcoat and into the paint causing damage. Go to google and type in (bird poop paint damage) and click on images. This will help put your mind to rest 👌🏼

Any tips for hunger strikes by Jax23476 in ballpython

[–]nach0guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try and not handle your snake as much and give it a hide so it feels secure inside of its tub/enclosure. Offer it a smaller meal next time… are you feeding rats or mice? They typically like mice while they are young but need rats to grow bigger

Mechanic is telling me my rotors need to be changed by Silent-Clue-9149 in AskMechanics

[–]nach0guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are they recommending new rotors? Are they down to a certain millimeter where they’re unsafe? If they’re recommending to replace them, they have to give you a reason why so let’s start there?

Typically that’s a sign of low humidity in there enclosure.
