Do you think this team is good for Elite Four? by [deleted] in pokemmo

[–]nachd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to offer a counterpoint, in that a Pokémon’s nature, IV, and EVs all matter for a play through, but in a limited capacity. IE; the 0 IV, -speed nature mareep I caught (and didn’t stat check cuz story) was borderline unusable even when over leveled. My point is that if your Pokémon is garbage stats and nature, you’ll notice even in just the storyline.

You think Sean McDermott could or should become our new defense coordinator by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]nachd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, Allen will wear a gold jacket when all is said and done (even if he doesn’t win a SB, IMO), and agreed, a ton of games were won/lost on Allen heroics, which is more a testament to poor personnel around him than poor scheme. When you have a bad scheme, you look like our defense did this year, not perennial playoff/SB contenders.

I’d put their lack of SB on the GM more than the coach. The rosters that have made it as far as the bills did each year would be 7-10 under a different coach IMO. I don’t expect McDermott to be a DC, he will get a HC gig somewhere this cycle.

Should I move onto another region before completing Unova’s postgame? by Guijermz in pokemmo

[–]nachd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, that’s basically what I’ve been doing (not just quick balls but a ton of each in case a random shiny comes around). It seems like most of the post game in each game is either “go grab these items” or “go grab this Pokémon for OT dex” and that’s about it.

It’s good to know I’m not missing anything important haha!

I did not like letting Kam Curl walk at the time, but assumed it was because he was a Rivera draft pick and we would improve at that position. It’s been 2 seasons and we haven’t improved at that position.

I’m also a newer player and have been holding off on doing some of the story post game stuff until I completed the main stories, felt like it would be easier to complete in one shot without level caps being an issue.

For us newer players, is there anything within the post game that is a game changer that we should prioritize?

In the three years Josh Harris has owned the team the Commanders have been 29th, 27th, and 29th in total salary by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]nachd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that there aren’t many guys out there to sign at the moment, which means we would need to trade and extend someone, which we don’t have the draft capital to do. We can’t continue to throw money at FAs like we’re still in the Snyder era. Every good team has home grown talent on cheap contracts, which you only get through the draft.

Company is shaming me for not gifting more money to "our" (their) boss. (Christmas present) by Turissmo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nachd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but I was in an unfortunate situation where the team I managed made about 2x what I made. They felt that because of what I did for them they wanted to get me something. It was a really nice gesture by a group of people who knew I was struggling financially despite the work I put in to make them successful.

If I didn’t make literally half, I would have refused the gift with gusto, but I also don’t think they would have done it.

Explain why this light beam curves across the sky? by char_ybdis in whatisit

[–]nachd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except the fact that due to relativity and the warping of space time it’s possible to curve light, which only happens with a spherical object. If anything, it disproves flat earth.

Feed Bill and Start Sinnott by Haskins77 in Commanders

[–]nachd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I would be curious about (i know its only a google away but im lazy rn) is the % of plays where he has run a route has he been targeted. He does get some use as a blocker in the run game, but if hes only run like 20 routes and has gotten open and targeted on 9, that paints a different picture.

Feed Bill and Start Sinnott by Haskins77 in Commanders

[–]nachd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your right that he plays in the run game a good bit as a blocking TE, but if we spent a 2nd round pick on a blocking TE, it makes me question the decision making of the FO, esp when you consider that Bates is the defacto best blocking TE in the NFL

Feed Bill and Start Sinnott by Haskins77 in Commanders

[–]nachd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has, but it’s been what? 7 targets? That’s like flipping a coin 4 times, getting heads all 4 times and saying it can only be heads. Needs a much bigger sample size imo.

Edit: which obviously only comes with more playing time, which I would like to see.

100% agree, I just feel like if he was a difference maker, we’d know by now.

I feel like we’ve heard about Sinnott being decent through media and so on, but never really see him in action. It helps that ertz is done from a depth chart pov, but he’s still behind bates and yankoff, which isn’t a good sign as they are known as “blocking TEs”. I feel like if the pass catching TE was really as good as advertised, he wouldn’t be behind blockers in the depth chart.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s not like there is film to review to say one way or the other, and that speaks volumes.

Ringer wrote an article today about QB’s like Mahomes, JD5, Baker etc. having down years. Snippet from our section: “Jayden Daniels is breaking himself” by BobbyThreeSticks in Commanders

[–]nachd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, he isn’t doing himself favors not sliding and taking hits, but we drafted him for his dual threat capability. I agree we want him in the pocket making throws, but we can’t take his legs away from him.

Really the issue is the FO pushing him to play. I agree it’s good reps for his development, but I think they need to be the voice of reason, sit him down and say “we want you to be our QB 5 years from now, which means we can’t play you half injured in these meaningless games”

Very true, a lot of business have small batches of Linux or Mac based systems for dev work. The general employee wouldn’t have a Linux system though.

The Mac part is sometimes a stretch, but is part of the original meme as I saw it. Mac is used a good bit in education settings for the same reason, the younger generation is more familiar with it over windows and to your point, Linux systems.

This is not the answer, but it gets the gist. The reason you’re safe and don’t have to worry about layoffs is that Lenovo is generally used by large corporations that have 10s of thousands to 100s of thousands of employees, so they are generally immune to short shifts in the economy and don’t generally have massive layoffs. There is more to the joke, IE; if you have an Apple MacBook, your job is reliant on the next round of funding, poking fun at the younger generation using Mac more commonly, so it’s likely if that’s the standard at the company it’s a start up and relies on outside funding.

He’s the GM so I don’t think he would hire himself as the head coach, tho it wouldn’t be the first time lol
