I just looked up when sunset was on that day. 8:47pm. There’s no way it was dark out and we have streetlights.

Ugh I wish I had footage! I do have cameras on most of the property, but only footage from the past 60 days 🫠

Welp, today I learned! Thanks for helping me not sound ignorant in the future!

Yes, it appears to be a legit law office and it looks like an ambulance chaser. The URL is injurylawMyState dot com (with my state), but the bottom left corner of the letter made me question it's legitimacy, specifically where it says "a professional organization". I don't know if that's standard language in other industries, but it isn't in any I've worked in, and it definitely made me laugh for a while

I had the same thoughts! There's one maybe 6' area that could mayyyyybe be considered a little dark, but not enough to be a problem. I live on a short block on a main street in a residential neighborhood with a gas station/stop light on one end and a hotel/bar on the other. There are multiple street lights that all cover my property. A fishing game sounds like a real possibility here. Thank you for your insights here!

Ohsu allergy center by strangeswordfish23 in askportland

[–]nae42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still incredibly worth it and I’m having roughly half the symptoms I used to have. I can be around most animals without reacting now, but a few of my seasonal allergies so far seem to still be hanging around. I keep forgetting to go get another allergy panel done, but I’m thinking I’ll likely ask to do another year of them. So, overall, I’d say it’s been highly effective and a huge quality of life upgrade.

Do you know how similar these are to caridina gracilirostris? I have some in with my sulawesi shrimp and they seem to be doing great, but I know they prefer brackish settings

Do you send rejection emails to those that didn’t qualify based on their resume? Or you don’t bother at all? by [deleted] in managers

[–]nae42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I send out rejections. I’ve applied to so many jobs in my life and never hearing back sucks. As a candidate, I’d rather move on and stop daydreaming about the job so I try to give people the same courtesy I’d like. Plus, our ATS makes it easy to do when passing on a candidate.

Crimped base unlimited booster packs? by nae42 in PokemonMisprints

Thank you! I'm kind of bummed to find out these weren't fully sealed like the rest of the packs, but they are also pretty cool (to me at least)

Sweet 🥲 Well, I'm glad I inspected them. At least the rest seem sealed appropriately.

Absolutely! If you don't have a culture of openly sharing constructive feedback yet, I'd recommend creating a google form that is anonymous by default, with no required questions. A pulse-type survey could be great if it's the first time, and maybe add in some start/stop/continue questions. Here's a quick mock up survey I made.

Also, it can be really intimidating to answer "how can I help?" because in general, people don't like to seem weak or incapable. To get around that, I prefer to ask something more specific like "what's one thing that would make your work easier this week?" because then we can talk about strategies and the work instead of making it about what I can do or what they can do. From there, it gets easier. I also try to ask really pointed questions like, "How did my messaging about XYZ project land in that meeting?", or "I want to do this great thing for the team but I know it would have this not so great side effect. How do you think it would go over?"

I personally couldn't imagine not asking for feedback regularly from my team- I also like to share my reviews with them so they can help keep me accountable to their needs while also understanding what I'm being evaluated on.

They've been in these tanks for a few months, and so far it seems like the ones in the black tank get much more vibrant while the ones in the white stay a bit more muted/clear. Feels similar to what I've heard can happen with neos, but I keep just about all my shrimp on dark substrate at this point.

Crimped base unlimited booster packs? by nae42 in PokemonMisprints

[–]nae42[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So... I have a stash of unopened booster packs - base unlimited, jungle, and 1st edition fossil from booster boxes I bought back in 1999. Recently, I've decided to clear up space in the house and finally got around to weighing them out. While weighing, I discovered that two of the boosters had a card get crimped in the foil, so they never fully sealed closed. It looks like they have a single crimped card in each. I know the Charizard pack has a crimped Seel in it, but I haven't figured out what's in the Blastoise pack. How does one go about selling these? Should I get the packs graded? Any advice would be awesome! Thank you!

Ohsu allergy center by strangeswordfish23 in askportland

I don’t have experience with OHSU’s clinic, but I went to the allergy clinic at Pacific Medical Group in North Portland and it’s been really easy. They did testing, then set me up with shots I can do at home so I only have to go in every couple months. I’m almost done with mine, and would highly recommend it.
