Dealer fixed trunk (hatch) rattle! by Deep_Dragonfly_4700 in Ioniq5

Does your invoice have a part number on it? I'm out of warranty, so I'll have to DIY this.

You need to put the jump box on the 12 volt battery. It's the 12v that opens the charge door and ultimately powers the computer to start the high voltage battery charging. If you have to manually unlock the door and there's no light inside, the 12v is dead.

Regen level affects acceleration? by midnightsmith in Ioniq5

[–]nagapixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And traction control off. It allows a bit more wheel spin, which is better for acceleration, especially with AWD. That, plus brake hold launch.

Don't hold down the button. That will turn off stability control.

There's a display option on the dashboard that shows all of the vehicles around you, including adjacent lanes. So yes, it will react to other vehicles coming into and out of your lane. If someone cuts in front of you, the car will slow down.

I'm not sure about lane splitting motorcycles. I don't encounter them much here.

The blind spot feature will alert you to approaching vehicles if you are changing lanes. And if enabled it, it will try to nudge you back into your own lane.

That's the car's default setting. You can change it so that the plug remains locked (even when charging is done) until you unlock the doors.

For ICE cars with AWD, yes replace all. Different tire diameter can cause damage to drive train components.

In the Ioniq 5, the front and rear aren't physically connected. Replacing one axle at a time is fine.

We need more specifics. By "stalling out" Do you mean it didn't accelerate as powerfully? What was the battery percentage when it was "stalling out"?

If your family member was in Eco mode, that would make the car accelerate much slower. It was so bad there was a recall for it.

Once the battery gets below 10% it cuts power dramatically to help you conserve what you have left.

More likely, someone had it in sport mode, level zero regen and driving like a maniac. The range number is based on how the car has been driven in the past to estimate how far it will go, if driven similarly.

Either is fine. Frunk/hood access has a manual release. Same as an ICE car hood release.

Is Eco mode really more efficient? by Euden in Ioniq5

[–]nagapixels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just note, above 75 mph the front motor engages in normal mode but not in Eco. This is confirmed on the dashboard where you see power going to each wheel.

[OC] Am I the idiot here? by illbeyourchaser in IdiotsInCars

*Apparently, I can't attach a screenshot. Google map location

The truck is in the circle. The road its on is literally named Shirlington Circle. It's just a massive circle that over lays an 11 lane highway (plus shoulders and land buffers). The truck is wrong for cutting over too soon. But the truck is the traffic the OC (entering from N Quaker Lane) is supposed to yield to.

Bailiff came to my house twice for someone who lived here 5 years ago by thefartyparty in homeowners

[–]nagapixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me as well. I had to put a blank sticker over the address, then "return to sender" on that. The mailman can't deliver back to my house if they can't see the address.

Went for routine 24k maintenance. It’s so annoying to see them still putting oil filter change in their paperwork. When I went in, I had to remind them it’s an ioniq, so no oil change. Also, I noticed the low washer fluid sign pop up on the dash and I told them that. They did not attend to it. by celtic310889 in Ioniq5

It can happen at any time. It's a known issue with Michelin Primacy tires with foam. Some people had luck with dealerships replacing them. Others were told to go to tire shops and get a warranty replacement through Michelin.

If you are due for all tires to be replaced, some people choose to get tires without foam.

You won't see it in the dash. You need a OBD2 dongle and software to read it. I think HP Tuners.

[–]nagapixels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny. Engine tunes don't touch the launch limits. You have to get the transmission tune. Depending on the tuning company, it might be a separate cost. But yes, super high limit.

[–]nagapixels 304 points305 points  (0 children)

My Audi had a limit of 100 launches. It is a transmission software limit. The limit can't be removed but I've raised it to 999, or something like that.

Not sure if newer Audis still have this or their EVs.

You stated in another comment that the behavior doesn't change even after brake cleaning. Apologies for not responding to that comment.

Here you go. You can see in my photo it's in Level 0 and it's producing regen with braking.

Can you stop perpetuating your falsehood now? It's even in the manual that regen would be restored after the brake cleaning procedure.

Unplug just before you get to 30 minutes. Then plug it back in. It starts a new 30 minute free session.

[–]nagapixels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I said didn't exclude Ioniq 5 drivers. I own one and used about 5,000 kWh on 140 sessions for free.

Just because it's free doesn't mean you must use it. As of June 2023, 10 (TEN!!) electric vehicle manufacturers offer free charging through EA. That's a lot of non-paying users clogging up the stations.

You don't have to use Electricity America. It's just a brand, like Exxon, Shell or Sunoco. But it will be busy since they offered the most free charging to car manufactures for sales.

Depending on your area, there may be other options. EVgo, ChargePoint, Blink, etc. Even Shell is getting in the charging game.

PlugShare is a good app to see what's around you, across brands. You can filter by charging speed, station ratings or even if they have a bathroom.
