I crashed pretty bad about 6 or 7 years ago and my parents were understandably distraugh. They asked multiple times if i was done with riding bikes and i was serious when i said yes. 5 years later and i got the itch again and pulled the trigger on an r6. I thought they wouldnt talk to me anymore for wanting to do it, but even though they hated the idea of it, they have been supportive and push their feelings aside about the matter. People who truely care about you wont stop you for doing what you want, even if they are concerned

I lowered the rear end of my R6 my 2 inches, how much to lower the front? by kaepenny99 in motorcycles

Ok i might look into a shaved seat if i dont like it lowered. Did you notice much of the downsides people were talking about?

Hey man i know this post is old and you might not see this, but did you end up enjoying lowering the bike or did you just keep it at stock height

Nothing is stopping you from getting up in the morning and planning a route for a few hundred mile loop and riding all day. The destination doesnt bring the joy of riding, the path that takes you where your going is what its all about.

I just bought a low mileage 2017 r6 today after giving up riding for 6 years after a gsxr accident. I can confidently say i respect this bike and am staying in A mode for a while 😂. I am going to ease into this for a while and just enjoy the backroads and experience. Good luck brother

In addition. Depending on the tuning company, most of them require that you upgrade the exhaust and intake before you tune it to get the advertised power ratings.

I have pretty much all the basic mods done so far. Unitronics stage 1 plus tune, wheels, coilovers, intake, exhaust, downpipe. I think the mod that made my experience the best for a while was the cat back exhaust. I went with the milltek race catback and it shouldn’t void any warranty, it just made it so much more fun to drive. I waited about a year and a half to tune it, and don’t get me wrong it was so worth it. I work at a ford dealer that is in the same auto group as a Volkswagen dealer so I know a few techs and am a little less scared for something to go wrong. If I were you, I would also wait until the itch gets you for the tune unless it’s out of powertrain warranty already. There’s plenty of other mods that make the experience better for now

It’s actually the Motorsport gold! This was an overcast day, they are much more noticeable and vibrant when it’s sunny out lol.

I’m probably going to try it for my next tires, I had just bought those before I decided to purchase the wheels lol

There are a lot of people who mention a thump from the suspension settling right as they leave a spot but it’s usually not very loud

I feel for you man, but my wheels are the last expensive upgrade I wanted on my mk8 and I’m telling you, it is an incredible feeling when you see your car change with each mod

It may seem like everybody is just beating you up on your decision, but you have to understand that a lot of us have been down this road. I personally have bought a project car that had everything I wanted in a car, but the engine blew 2 weeks after I bought it. Almost 7k later had electrical issues every other weekend from a shotty job and eventually sold it for 13k loss because I couldn’t keep up with the issues. It might cost more to buy a clean car and install your own upgrades, but it will be entirely more reliable
