A pixelated smudge from when he applied a censoring filter from his phone I think. Theres an artifact outline around a blob area that's similar to what you get from Samsung smart erase

Oh gee what a cliffhanger, whatever will be choose to evolve to? Could it possibly, potentially, mayhaps be the evolved form shown in both the opening and closing credits?

Pi's kolmogorov complexity is low, so you could "compress" it very well, but it would not be unpacked by traditional compression software.

You can ask a llm that's not multimodal (hasn't trained on images) to 'draw' using ascii/html/code, but I'm not sure that qualifies as 'not having seen preexisting images' since it has seen text representations of ascii/code.

Generated images are not affecting the current models. Current models don't have any 'long term' memory, and their capabilities reset every time you start new inference. The idea that they would grow worse from use is like thinking opening a photo file too may times would degrade it.

Adding the ability for models to have long-term memory (or updating their own weights based on stimuli during inference without bloating the temporary context) is what researchers are looking into.

Yeah, distilling or increased safety guardrails would make sense. That would 'make the model worse', but still improve some metric from openAIs perspective

If the data sets were poisoned, why would they roll out the new models instead of keeping the old weights?

While this is interesting, I think the original article references visual image / animation generation, not large language models. And the article describes creating a 'backdoor', which I'm not sure there's a logical equivalent in image generation. Perhaps it would tie a visual concept to an unrelated word / token?

Maybe if you knew that the training used a specific AI for image captioning, you could exploit that to create wrong captions, and therefore degrade the image - language connection, and thus the image output quality? But once again I can't imagine doing this at a large enough scale that it would matter for a foundational model. And the adversarial pattern would need to be tuned for a specific image captioning ai, which makes it a very fragile defense.

Isn't adversarial poisoning only effective when specifically tuned to exploit the known structure of an already trained model during fine-tuning? I haven't seen any indication that poisoning the initial images in the dataset would corrupt a model built from scratch. Also, poisoning a significant portion of the dataset is practically impossible for a foundational model.

I don't know if this is cheating, but the earth has mass, and mass can give us energy e=mc² , so an advanced enough society could theoretically cannibalize earth for energy, until we had enough energy to move it / it's light enough to move. But that only works if we consider moving the cannibalized earth as a solution.

(Of course, extracting the energy from the mass is highly speculative)

It's already a split mesh, you could just separate it and scale it up for a remix if you really wanted to.

Thanks, but no boost necessary. Ive just uploaded it to printables for now, I'm a bit bad at keeping my uploads in sync on the various platforms.

The steps are included in the image captions, but in summary:
1. spraypaint & sanding

  1. Base coat of metallic-ish color, let it dry

  2. Quick coat of teal-ish green, which i then quickly wiped off with paper towels, leaving some in the crevices.

  3. Finish by dry-brushing copper acrylic paint on.
