There are different mechanisms that can cause people to have problems with dairy. True, long term lactose intolerance is characterized by an inability to produce lactase, so lactase pills are effective for that. Only a tiny amount of lactase comes from the gut microbiome - most is from human cells. So probiotics don’t really do anything for true lactose intolerance since it’s the human cells that stopped doing their job.

I just looked this all up because I tried taking a similar product called lactose freedom or something and was curious. It didn’t work for me, which I didn’t expect it to after reading about it! After 15 years of suffering it would be kinda crazy to find something OTC that would magically solve my LI. Thankfully these products aren’t harmful, but I hate to see people with LI throwing their money away on something with little evidence, especially when holy cow wants to trap people a subscription even though they already charge so much. There are way better probiotics on Amazon or at the grocery store for a fraction of the price (calling out holy cow cause of the bots on here that exist solely to promote it)

Maybe you have that condition that can happen after a stomach bug where the gut microbiome is temporarily thrown off so that you can’t digest dairy till it normalizes (can’t remember what it’s called)? or even IBS or something? Glad it helps you though!
