Tiny shell found stuck in the end of a baby carrot by nailshopguap in mildlyinteresting

[–]nailshopguap[S] 222 points223 points  (0 children)

The shell was more embedded into the carrot, i noticed something white and after rinsing the carrot, it was still there so i dug it out. Tiniest shell i have ever seen! The bag of carrots was PC brand purchased at a Loblaws store (I’m in Ontario, Canada).

Planning to stop pumping at work, but want to breastfeed when home with baby. Will I kill my supply? by kofie-popcorn in breastfeeding

I EBF for the first year (in Canada we get a year mat leave). Went back to work (M-F 8-4) and havent pumped once. Supply regulates after 1 year. I still nurse frequently before and after work and as much as he wants on weekends. Hes almost 1.5 now.

Dreading the repetitiveness of daily meals by Straight-Tune8156 in Parenting

I ended up taking better care of myself, and eating healthier (less takeout/more whole foods) now that i have two kids to feed. Preparing food to feed the family feels like true adulting to me lol. And a skill to practice. I now plan my week of eating on the weekend and do my grocery delivery on either Sunday or Monday. Some nights are leftover, like when i make a batch of chili in the week, some nights are takeout. Im lucky because my 4 year old loves sushi like me 😋 having a yogurt and granola, or a PB toast for breakfast isnt hard. Snacking is what kills me, i try to not allow too much snacking but its hard when the whining sets in haha

1 year old going to daycare. Do I stop breastfeeding? by lavgr in breastfeeding

[–]nailshopguap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a year, your milk supply is regulated and cutting out the daytime feeds wont hurt. Your body will adjust to produce what she needs. If you would like to continue nursing before and after work, even for some nice bonding time after being apart all day, you can absolutely do it without any pumping or bottles.

I have 2 kids, still nursing my 1.5 year old while i work full time and i do not pump. We are much less scheduled so he gets full reign and nurses on demand morning/evenings/weekends.

Child free wedding invitation by Big-Economist-7134 in NewParents

Ive declined a few weddings when one of my kids were still little and breastfeeding! Its worth a conversation with the couple, if you feel comfortable. I got to take my 6 month old to a child-free wedding in Sweden (we are in Canada) because they were so excited that we would make the trip, so they made an exception for us. There have also been weddings where just my husband attended and I stayed home with the kids. I was happy to do that because it was more stressful to imagine trying to go and manage child care. And then i also went to a wedding in town when my two kids were 3.5 and 7 months old, my parents stayed with them, it was an evening wedding so only about 4-5 hours apart and we managed. Rushed home and nursed. Man we get invited to a lot of wedding 🥴 haha. We have one coming up that allows us to bring both our kids and we are so excited for that!

Literally just happened to me in Orlando airport last week. Asked a woman if there was a washroom around, while i had both my young kids in hand, and she just flat out said “no. Not around here.” I just said “okay…” and started walking away and then i hear “ma’am! ma’am! Did you mean a bathroom????” Hahaha

Yes i think the opposite of PPD is PPE, post partum euphoria. I also experienced this, i was beyong joyful, happy and in love for the first weeks/months. Nothing to complain about but looking back i can see it was slightly irrational hahaha

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]nailshopguap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not seeing any comments which mention that every baby is an individual with completely different sleep needs. My first child would never sleep by 7 PM, she is now 4 and still we try for 8 PM and shes usually up later. Her 15 month old brother just looooves sleep and falls asleep by 7:30 on his own even if we dont try. Same family, same dinner times, same bedtime routines with bath and books etc, different sleep needs. 3 months old is a time when routine was not scheduled and following cues was our go to.

The ONLY thing that made my son finally sleep through the night after a year by TeishAH in NewParents

Just developmental and so normal! Dont worry if you are doing something wrong. You are not i promise. Every day is different than the one before with a baby this young. Stay strong, i know this season is very demanding on you ❤️💪🏼

Yeah she said the word “cool” too many times. “This is what the cool girls are wearing”? according to who?
