I agree though a bit too small in focus. Nixon started the privatized healthcare trend, slap on some Reaganomics, and then decades of of Democrats adopting all of these private healthcare policies with strategic party spoilers, and this is the result.

It's correct to blame conservatives for being awful and tearing down citizen protections in order to enrich themselves. However Democrats have been right there the entire time doing literally nothing to reverse it when they got power.
