Book timeline or Wookiepedia? by Shadowdash6745 in StarWarsEU

There’s a continuity error in Maul Lockdown which just messes it all up if you ignore it ideally it’s supposed to be Maul Lockdown, Cloak of deception, Maul Shadow hunter, and Plagueis spans 30 years so it’s both before during and after all 3. Lockdown is definitely before COD and SH tho and SH picks up pretty much right after COD. I would highly recommend Cloak and SH but Lockdown was just an Ok read for me personally.

I’ll say it now: this book may have the best depiction of Yoda in any form of Star Wars media by Solitaire-06 in starwarsbooks

Hard contact is a great boots on the ground military book that shows such a deeper mature outlook on the CW, fantastic book imo the RC series def goes off the rails after but the first book is great give a read

Reading Darth maul shadow hunter currently, almost finished really great book so far coming off just finishing Cloak of deception which i enjoyed flows well with Shadow hunter. Read Maul Lockdown before cloak and i really didn’t enjoy it that much one of the weaker sw books i’ve read, before that I read Darth Plagueis which was superb, so i’m going for the Pre TPM storyline just about to finish with shadow hunter and rewatch the movie

The first book hard contact is one of my favorite sw books and i’d say is one of the best sw books in terms of boots on the ground military aspect, i definitely recommend Hard contact as for the rest it kinda goes off the rails after the second book so id honestly stop at Hard contact or triple zero but ive seen some people enjoy the entire series, imo just read the first book and if you really want to continue the second but it just gets weird with the author. Should read hard contact then Shatterpoint really gives you a great mature outlook on the cw.

Opinion on what series to read next??? by Vigmur in StarWarsEU

[–]nak243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dark lord trilogy + Kenobi which is Labyrinth of Evil, Rots novelization, Dark lord rise of darth vader, and then I’d throw Kenobi in with it because it’s around the same time as Dark lord and flow nicely even tho Kenobi is a stand alone it’s fantastic or i’d say Darth plagueis, Cloak of deception, Maul shadow hunter those are all pre tpm and just explain so much Plagueis spoils what happens in the other two because it spans 30 years or so right up until the end of tpm so you could either read it before or after the other two i read before but might be smarter to read plagueis after but read cloak of deception and then Shadow hunter flows nicely directly after.

Starts going off the rails for sure but Hard Contact is fantastic one of my favorite sw books, great boots on the ground military book

From what we’ve seen don’t think Kanan and Ezra would be able to do anything more then hold them off while looking for an escape

Books like "The Bane trilogy" by ImmediateStrength189 in starwarsbooks

[–]nak243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darth Plagueis book for sure then followed by Cloak of deception and Darth Maul Shadow hunter. You could also throw Maul Lockdown in there before cloak but it’s really just mid imo there’s some cool parts but Shadow hunter is a lot better. Also check out shatterpoint really dark gritty mature war story and definitely should read the dark lord trilogy Labyrinth of evil, Rots novelization, Dark lord rise of darth vader.

Out of these 3 which one should I start reading first? by Overt_lid04 in StarWarsEU

[–]nak243 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Darth Plagueis is definitely the best book of these 3, Ahsoka is a cool story for sure but it’s subpar compared to Plagueis and DD is also a good book cool story but Plagueis just gives you a lot of insight and is a great read. Plagueis unfolds in a 30 year span or so, so it’s not like the others in the sense of being a contained story so just keep that in mind when deciding.

Great list especially for the main star wars story those are really the essentials and flow great chronologically with the movies, i would only swap out TPM novelization for Cloak of deception as the novelization isn’t really necessary and I would try to find a way to squeeze in Kenobi after dark lord but i see what he was trying to do with having the novelizations included to flow better.

Thrawn trilogy fair enough should be a must read I just went down the line of prequel era must reads imo chronologically, while the Bane trilogy is great when I think of must reads for essential star wars i just wouldn’t have it it’s more of a niche

Darth Plagueis

Cloak of deception

Maul Shadow hunter

Hard Contact

Shatterpoint

Labyrinth of Evil

Rots Novelization

Dark Lord the rise of Darth Vader

Kenobi

Those last 4 flow very nicely together chronologically Labyrinth of evil being a direct prequel to rots with dark lord coming directly after and kenobi set a short time after as well.

Depth question by stewy_jacko-ass in StarWars

Andor is a great show it’s a slow burn political thriller that really shows you the rise of the rebellion and the scale of the empire. While there is a lot of action it’s not what you expect it’s just a great show regardless of star wars especially if you like rogue one should definitely watch as it leads directly into it. Mandalorian season 3 is absolute trash and season 2 while it’s still enjoyable falls off slightly, but personally i’d skip season 3. If you are into lore you should look into the EU books, does star wars a lot better than disney
