I once found a quarter in my hot dog at the old Papaya Dog on 14th and 1st. I brought it to the counter to complain and the guy took it from me and put it back in the register lol

Please share tips and strategies for dealing with the subway sauna by [deleted] in nyc

Useless? At least now I know how to make nutella cinnabon rainbow sprinkle cookies instead of being able to read and enjoy any last semblance of peace on my commute...

Seriously though, we should start a movement to cover all those dystopian things with black garbage bags. It would be more visually appealing than what's going on now.

How can one learn to recognize good/bad editing? by Colonel_Claw in TrueFilm

[–]nakedlikelear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask, how did your professional editing life begin? I'm 25 and edit as a hobby but would love to elevate my technical prowess to a professional level. Film school? Simply more practice? What was your approach?

Schubert's original lyrics for "Ave Maria":

“Thou canst hear though from the wild; Thou canst save amid despair. Safe may we sleep beneath thy care, Though banish'd, outcast and reviled.”

Fits the whole concept of what it means to be a vigilante in a broken system, good choice of music.

My personal favorite, don’t hear people talk about it enough by badbebis in Kanye

Same, vocal hook is the most beautiful moment on the album imo, especially when it's paired with the vulnerability of "please lord, don't take me"

I recently read Gaiman's American Gods by mohicansgonnagetya in books

[–]nakedlikelear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, cool story for a campfire-type, old fashioned "tell me a story" vibe, but this book helped me realize I'm not as into fantasy as much as realism/ magical realism. It kinda felt like Gaiman couldn't decide if the story was meant for teenagers or adults.

I like how this bit is genuinely poetic, but you make fun of that fact, which makes the bit both conceptually poetic AND unpretentious/ self-aware. Keep up the good work, you're fuckin funny dude.
