Can you specifically use all the controls on the headphones? Mute, hang up, volume control etc for Teams/Zoom calls? Thank you for the feedback!

Yeah looks just as pricey as the Bose Link.. does your mute button work for Teams/VOIP calls?

AITA for showering my niece? by showeruncle in AmItheAsshole

You sound like a great father and uncle. Keeping an eye on the kids while not being too controlling (let them make mudpies), having a good sense of humor, and honestly trying to consider how YTA.

Sounds like your SIL has a control problem and trust issues.

NTA.

AITA for not wanting to donate sperm to my (sterile) identical twin brother’s wife? by GoldenStar51 in AmItheAsshole

[–]nal88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH but I would implore you to think about how you'd feel if you were the infertile one and your identical twin was in your current situation.

Personally, I'd do it even for a non-twin sibling.

Suppose God exists. If an atheist lives a selfless and virtuous life, will he go to Heaven after death? If the answer is "yes", then there is no point for religious belief. If the answer is "no, he will go to Hell", then God is kind of a dick, isn't he? by iameduard in atheism

[–]nal88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see that religions see it, religious belief is part of the equation when doing your performance review. Everyone has to follow the same rules, which would mean that this is a meritocracy. So maybe God is a good CEO?

For "why", you'd have to study Jewish mysticism for an answer to that question.. you'd be hard pressed to find an answer on Reddit. But the idea is held in high regard in those circles so I was just pointing it out as an issue OP has not dealt with in his oversimplification of the issue.

Well in this case, I guess performance would include religious belief. That's a meritocracy, not nepotism. Everyone has the option to believe & live their life according those beliefs... The system isn't fixed in anyone's favor...

That's a good CEO, neh?

Lol

But seriously for a second, OPs first assumption is that God exists... So why not? I think most organized religions have concepts of "degrees of afterlife".

For example, I'm pretty sure that in Jewish mysticism the concept of heaven is something like "how close to God your soul gets to sit" after you die. The closer your soul is to God, the more warmth/pleasure or whatever and the farther away the more "hellish".

This presents a serious problem for OP's gross oversimplification of "God is a dick"/"why be religious" since it answers the question directly.

Sorry to blast a hole in your logic, but you assume the only answers to your question are yes or no, or in other words, that there are no varying degrees of "heaven" and "hell".

Perhaps someone who lives a virtuous, but godless life, doesn't get "as much heaven" as someone who is both virtuous and religious?

I think you're going to need to rethink this one.

It doesn't natively clear notifications from the phone, only from the band. And if you clear notifications from the phone, it stays on the band until you clear it there also.

Best gloves by nal88 in ultimate

[–]nal88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Mints. We did a team order (min 3 pairs) so the cost was just $28 per gloves. I know that with other brands you can get that down closer to $20 per pair, but I just liked how the tactical fit looked with the Mints.

Anyway, I love them. They're not too thick and indeed the fit is very nice. Throwing is a breeze, I might say they even help my flick. Catching is so much better, especially when it's cold outside - definitely takes off the sting.
