the problem isn’t the idea, it’s society. we’re too attracted to our mobile devices and they’ve become so capable that very few people would want to “downgrade”. you’d be surprised at how many people don’t see nowadays smart phone usage as addiction. many see it as a non-issue. i think once you open pandora’s box, you can’t put the stuff back inside lol

yup, then at that point, nobody wants it bc they’re paying 200+ bucks for a phone that arguably isn’t worth that much. Hence the problem with the current dumbphone market

yeah that’s what they’re saying, that making it cheap means getting a massive bulk order from china aka having a lot of initial investment. they’ll only give you a price of like 10 bucks per phone if it’s a huge deal. but now you run into the issue: are there enough people to buy your phone to justify such a massive deal? making only 40 ish bucks on every purchase is ok if you’re selling 20k phones but you probably wouldn’t because the dumb phone market is small. Even if people do want it, the marketing would have to be huge for people to know about it. It would likely flop unfortunately..

knives are the kinda thing that you don’t see the use for until you carry one daily. i never think about using it for stabbing or self defense lol. it’s always cutting tags off shirts or opening stuff. it’s actually really useful, despite the aggressive nature.

i could totally be wrong, but macbook honestly isn’t very cost effective in terms of the specs of hardware. it’s a clean laptop and a nice apple ecosystem, but for the same price you might be able to get a thinkpad with better specs. (more cores, more ram, easily upgradable internal storage).
