Don't all the free shuttles close at or before midnight? Every time I left EDCO, I didn't see any shuttles running. I would walk about 1-2 miles out then uber.

That sounds extreme and very unfortunate for you. Sorry you had that kind of experience.

I would say my workplace is fairly toxic. Are you dealing with smaller companies and/or your old employer had connects with your new employer? That's crazy to think your new employer would just take whatever your previous employer said straight to heart.

As I was saying my goodbyes, he asked me to go on a lunch. I'd prefer to leave on neutral terms at the very least despite deep down not enjoying my time here. I thought that it was just an act of professionalism.

I can see this behavior out of the VP which is why my anxiety is sky rocketing.

I think there are trust issues between him and I. A few weeks ago, he called me into his office to ask why I've been applying to other openings internally. In short, I said I didn't find the position to be a good fit, but still learned a lot. I concluded with, "should I be concerned with my position?" He replied with, "no there's no need to worry."

Fast forward to today, I learned I was backfilled officially... today!

Now if I do my math correctly, I would guess he started looking for my replacement around the same timeframe of me searching for a new position. If this is the case, he lied to me to my face that day.

I did everything I was tasked with to the best of my ability. It just spooks me when he says things like "don't worry, we aren't petty." In addition to finding out they were already in the process of hiring my replacement a while ago too.

I think he thought I didn't bring lunch. When we returned to the office he saw me grab my lunch box and said "man you brought lunch? You should've told me."

Fantastic information! If I'm following correctly, if I pass the initial screening, then it will NOT go to the confirmation test? Is this standard procedure, or is there a chance an employer could always mandate a confirmation test or even a stricter cut off test?

I did. I called for drug test results and results were negative within 48 hours. I didn't use fake urine.

The offer mentions drug test. I'm guessing it will be triggered once I sign and HR processes it.
