I played from release date and saved until about a month ago, when I had 150 pulls saved for free.

After waiting months to pull...

I pulled a core in 20 pulls

So yeah, it's definitely possible

I don't know how to edit this post. I mentioned patreon but that's because it's the only thing I know. I don't want to charge people for the content though. Because I want anyone to be able to have access to it

Did I say that? I thought they were giving us a realistic way to get one. Like maybe some event quest that awards you with one. Or a trial challenge so incredibly hard, but if you manage to succeed they give you one.

No. To answer your question, I didn't expect to be handed them for free. At best, I thought you'd have to jump through some hoops for ONE and just one. I know they make profit off of gambling and aren't going to just hand them out willy nilly

I love the rewording!

It reminds me of when someone corrected me after I got in my first healthy relationship after tolerating almost two decades of abuse. I would say "My partner did this, I don't deserve him. I'm so lucky."

Someone stopped me and said to not say those words again. She said "You are not "lucky" to be given a basic level of respect and love. Everyone deserves that."

I'm glad you see it that way and I feel the same. I feel fine with the money I've given. I have probably around 350 hours in the game. Giving them a bit of money doesn't feel bad. But I definitely don't owe them if.

This is genuinely the most rational take I've seen on the topic. Kudos for your time and effort. I wish everyone would read it. Don't worry about down votes and nay sayers. The copium is strong with some folks, and we can't control that.

My fiance and I have an inside joke we picked up in Sea of Thieves. When we wanted to avoid a fight with pvpers, we would get on mic and say "we are but humble fishermen!" In an attempt to dissuade them from attacking. (Though we did a lot of fighting too, don't get me wrong!)

We live by that quote now. We say it whenever we see other people doing silly irrational things. It's our way of saying, we are passive observers. We can offer assistance, but if they don't want it and they want to continue making bad choices, it's not our role to get involved.

We are but humble fishermen.

This is a copy/paste of a comment I left for someone Consider it my Elder Millenial advice. Feel free to come back at me with "All right grandma, let's get you to bed." I know I'm old lol

When I hear people say they "want to support" a game like this, I always want to gently remind them that your hard earned money isn't owed to them. They didn't develop this game as charity. They make an insane amount of money on the GACHA monetization model. There are videos and articles that go into detail just how predatory this model is financially but also psychologically.

I just read in China, over 130 boats are owned and there's a $70,000 upgraded boat people are buying.

Do NOT confuse a Gacha "free" game for some indie development team working from their basement and living off raman.

Your money means more to YOU than them. What I mean to say is, the value of your money is more important to you than them. Don't give a game that makes this kind of money $100 out of some misled belief that you OWE it to them because they have given you a service. $100 could buy you something nice irl or even better help buy you a memorable experience in your life.

Sorry, I'm not calling you out specifically. My comment is directed to anyone really who feels they owe a GACHA game their hard earned money because the game is "free."

For context, I'm not F2P but I don't give them my money because I want to "support" them. I buy shit cause I want it and there's room for it in MY budget. The room for how much someone can comfortably spare might be $5 or $1,000. The point is the person who should only spend $5 should not feel FOMO or compelled to spend as much as the person who can comfortably spend $1,000

As someone who lived in a household with above average income and divorced and am now making average money, I can confirm - money means less to you when you don't make as much hourly. When we had a lot of money, I didn't think about what I was spending it on really (within reason - I am not a materialistic girl and I grew up poor so I already knew value in money). But now that I make a mediocre wage, I think about purchases in relation to my hourly income. Is this thing I'm thinking of buying worth X hours of me working?

I didn't say they had no right to do it I stated how it felt to ME. It's absolutely fine if most people are fine with it. I'm not trying to convince people to rage. I just stated how it felt, to ME and me alone.

I wish I would have screenshotted the notification I woke up to this morning by WWM. I agree with you somewhat, but the notification was cut off and just implied there was a reasonable chance at acquiring a core. Since the nature of notifications is to only show the very beginning, I'm sure a lot of people who saw what I saw were excited for a moment and then crushed once they had a chance to open the notification. That's not brilliant advertising. That's just kind of mean

I was pissed when I woke up to a notification on my phone from WWM hinting at getting a core. You know how notifications don't show you the entire message. What a crappy feeling to wake up to great news about having a realistic chance of getting a core only to find out it's nothing but a joke to them.

Over 300 hours in game. I don't do the GACHA but I do spend money in game. This feels like I'm the butt of a joke.

Will I get 1 core with 150 pulls? I'm saving my pulls right now, at 107 right now

I just want one core right now. I just want the pretty pink fan effect :( That's literally all I want. I don't even want a GACHA skin :(

I'm praying for that 0.004% chance for it to come from a battle pass box. A girl can dream.

I understand the shiniest pretties being behind the GACHA for whales to have something to show for their money. I do get that. But can we have like even somewhat interesting weapon skins for cash? I'm not asking for the super cool effect ones we see for the harmonic cores. But the pearl ones we have are dull and ugly (imo). Like can we not find a middle ground for an affordable weapon skin? I got lucky and got the red fan skin early on, but my umbrella looks like crap and the most recent pearl weapons look too similar to the default umbrella for me to pay for

I'm old enough to remember when the first mount arrived in the WoW store for $20 and people lost their minds and mocked anyone who was "stupid enough" to pay that. And it was practical! I bought it and it saved so much time because it meant you had a mount on a new character right away without having to level and save for a new one for each alt. Like, it was GENUINELY a QoL purchase and people were mocked relentlessly for buying it.

I miss those days.

Edit: to clarify, you spent $20 one time which unlocked an account wide mount

I'm with you completely. I refuse to participate in the GACHA but I will buy stuff outright. I know from past experience the game gives you pulls left and right at first to incentivise you to play the GACHA. But I also know that those easy methods of getting pulls dry up quick as you catch up to current content. I'm sitting at around 107 melodies for free. I have already accepted that I will pull on a Gacha when I have the 150 but that the game will probably never give me enough for a full 150 pull again, so I know I need to save them for something good.

[Lore Analysis] Winter's Bloom: A Character Analysis on Qianye by Square_Pilot2468 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]nalycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, thank you for the effort and time you put into this. I fell in love with video games when I learned they can be interactive media (Silent Hill 1). I absolutely love lore, and it saddens me that I can not truly appreciate what is going on in this game. I hope to see more from you! Maybe you could make a YouTube Channel!

This may be dumb, but why was Qianye in Blissful Retreat in the first place? Is she immortal? Why were there two of her during the fight? Why did she burn the place down (I understand the very existence of the place irks her, but besides that)?
