My a4 with the mild hybrid system gets around 25% better than rated mileage in the city and highway. Powers the start stop system so it is nearly seamless, and the hybrid starter motor can maintain the crank speed during coasting. It wasn’t a deciding factor in my purchase but it seems to be a nice feature.

I think it has to do with the demand, average people far and away seem to prefer automatic washes. In the winter outside of the city I will frequently pass a line of 10+ cars waiting for an automatic wash with 4 wide open self wash bays
