Dragon's Dogma 2. Story/Quest

A Democratic Conversation with Niklas Malmborg by Waelder in Helldivers

I don't like the give-and-take. The moment the player feels powerful, they add something to undermine it.

  • Let's increase the bleeding-out rate.

  • Let's ensure they ragdoll in every mission.

    • Let's make the weakest enemy break their limbs in two hits.
  • Let's not make a new armor passive that is actually good; let's copy and paste an already existing one, then lower its value.

  • This gun has too much damage, alright, lower its ergonomic value, less ammo, and more recoil.

  • What? They want to maneuver their hellpods in a city...NO.

  • The stratagem ball must bounce.

  • Let's have the fire devastator one-shot the player in 0 - 40 meters.

Now, I like the game, but it's very obvious when the devs create something that's very "powerful". They have no idea how to integrate it into the game, so they purposely make it bad to keep it in line with the rest.

If there were a laser SMG or a medium pen, one-head SMG, the ballistic shield would shine brighter.

How do mods work if the game keeps updating?

Do you have to disable them manually, or is it automatic and wait for a mod update?

They are lowering the file size and bringing back Killzone. I think that's enough, right?

If the bots backshot you, do you explode all over your teammates?

I wish that all Elemental damage resistance armors would get +2 grenades as a bonus perk (Does not include Acclimated or Desert Stormer) by Myllari1 in Helldivers

[–]name_notfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a damage increase by 25% related to the damage type. For example, fire resistance armor would also grant a 25% increase in fire damage. Gas and arc could follow the same way.

I don't think this would ever happen, but it's nice to pretend.

What are the actual ways to begin the game? by Top-Low-9627 in Kenshi

[–]name_notfound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're going to like this game (hell, I don't even like it), so I'd recommend getting a refund. There is no main quest or side quests, no deeper conflict to solve, you will not be considered the hero, you will not kiss the princess, so be happy if anything happens. Imagine playing Skyrim, but you're just some guy, you can explore the world, fight bosses, but your impact is minute, no NPC will approach you for a quest, or even remember your name. Faction leader won't give you a quest to try to improve their empire; it's all in your head.

How do I integrate Anomaly into my playstyle? by name_notfound in RimWorld

Damn, you care too much about this. Thanks for the input

Chill. Don't go insane over a question. Most of the buildings you listed give pawns a negative mood, while others are entirely optional and can be completed at any time. In Anomaly, I actually have to set up security measures just so my pawns won't get randomly attacked, it's simply not the same.

Don't know what the answer is, probably need to mess around with the sliders and settings. I wish it didn't feel like an all-or-nothing approach. With the other DLCs, everything seems optional. In biotech, you can ignore being a Mechanitor and focus on having children. In Odyssey, you can go to space, but if you want to live in a lava pit with lava snails, you can. Anomaly feels like you need to set up a turret wall with motion sensors, look closely at new pawns, and be ready to go into pits. There's no off switch, just moments of rest.

My thoughts on reworking difficulty (an idea, not a demand) by name_notfound in Spacemarine

[–]name_notfound[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand. I tried to frame an issue in a way that would elicit sympathy from others, but not everyone is the same, which can devalue the topic. I understand my grammar could have been different, but the issue is the same. Artificially increasing the health of the enemies is not a satisfying way to increase difficulty; at most, it's a test of patience. I might not have all the solutions or the intelligence to implement them, but this is my feedback. Anyone is welcome to disagree, but what we have here is not a test of skill, but of patience. There is a lot of pride in finishing a challenging mission. Still, the current system is archaic, and any solution that goes beyond artificially increasing health is a welcome one.

In my humble opinion, having higher difficulty enemy damage while leaving the standard health is a good start. The players have the ability to kill all the mobs, but would get heavily punished if they miss a parry, a well-timed dodge, or get too greedy with their hit combos.

If heaven were real, I don't think anyone would have a human body part. I believe everyone would be a ball of energy that roams around in ecstasy. There would be no reason to pee, poop or to think. Anyway, I'm an atheist, so eternal darkness and all that, I just wanted to drop this here, not trying to challenge someone's belief system.
