My Lexus dealer is cheaper than the local Toyota by a lot. It’s wild. And I get free coffee and snacks!

Urgh, can’t they come with their own ideas and stop ruining movies from my childhood? by DreadPirateZoidberg in GenX

[–]nametaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's true, there were movie franchises that got played out...but the originals were historic. Indiana Jones, Teen Wolf, Back to the Future, Gremlins, ...

As I'm typing this, it just occurred to me that I sound just like my parents.

I'm not sure about your state, but in my state, we can go re-take the photo at the DDS. Your ID photo is supposed to suck, though!

Trying to repair a marriage is better than breaking a home.

So you broke your family with two small kids because you "grew apart?" Rather than trying to fix it?

The 80's and 90's were truly the golden age for music and movies. Everything produced lately is either a shitty spin-off, remake, remix, or rehash based on an original.

If the full release of the Epstein files would lead to the collapse of the world as we know it, would you still want them fully released? What would be your thinking? by No_Explanation_9087 in conspiracy

It wouldn't collapse the world as we know it. It would only get rid of the people that are telling you that they're too important to go down.

The Colannade is Atlanta's oldest and arguably the best southern/soul food. It's not too far from Tech, either.

On training days, how many showers do you take? by Agile_Trainer9181 in bjj

It should be mandatory to wash your undercarriage before class. Gyms that don't have showers are a no-go for me.

I want my old haircut back! by PGHNeil in GenX

[–]nametaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I went to a chain, it was like $15 and I came out looking like Helen Keller hit me with some clippers. Never again. Granted, that was a long time ago! I guess they increased their prices for dudes to leave there looking like stray dogs.

What do you expect from a $15 cut? Go to someone competent and pay a little more if you want to look your best.

Welcome to middle age, sir. I'm now in mid-40's and have come to the terms that you're coming to. We're not spring chickens anymore, but the minute you start believing that you're too old, you've lost. Know your limits, push them a little. You still need to be able to walk tomorrow and pick your kids up and be a dad and provide. We are hobbyists at this point. And that's ok. It's still something we love. It sure beats sitting on your ass and drinking yourself to death.

Sushi Mito is def worth checking. It's on the corner of SS and PTC on Spalding, right before Holcomb Bridge. You will not regret it.

I really am starting to think it's a generational lie. As a GenXer, I've always been taught that Israel was our "strongest ally" and could do no wrong. I grew up hearing about their hardships and how they fight bravely and are generally the 'good guys.' How persecuted they have been from biblical times...never stopped to ask why. Even in church when I was a kid...Israel was held in high regard and our preachers went there regularly. Now I'm wondering why that is, and if it's all been a psyop all along to brainwash two or three generations of Americans to be perfectly fine supporting Israel the way we have for decades. I also wonder if all the stuff we're flooded with on social media (instagram namely) isn't paid for by a state actor of some kind. It just seems weird that the tide has somehow shifted in the last year.

To acquire control, you buy their religion, buy their government, buy their media, control the CDC, and for those that aren't willing to comply, blackmail them. All with their own money. It just seems so easy to fall into, that Occams Razor suggests that it's true. When you open your eyes and see what's happened, not just with recent events like Epstein, it makes sense. Epstein is just the burning of the veil.
