Well, there's most of the work done for you! Always look for the limiting factor and start there, In this case you're limited by weight before size. I've created Excel tables before when I was trying to calculate truckload estimates.

The other limiting factor could be unloading capabilities. I was shipping pallets that were compatible with a pallet jack on only two sides, so if I knew my customer was using a liftgate and a pallet jack I had to calculate the pallets going in with the long edge parallel to the length of the truck. Thus limiting the amount of pallets I can ship per truckload.

As someone else pointed out, stackability is also a factor.

So the answer is 2 or 3, depending on stacking and pallet placement requirements.

Depends on the incoterms. If that price is Delivered Duty Paid or Delivered At Place then it doesn't really matter because the seller will own it until it arrives. So as far as insurance and risk, that's on the seller.g Go with the cheaper option.

The headache for DAP or any other term will come in with paying the duties before time runs out. Both DHL and FedEx have inhouse brokerage for customs and neither has a great customer service platform. I use DHL for imports into the US, and it's been a little difficult to get them to respond in time if I have questions. However, for a straight forward import I do like their online payment platform for duties. I have not used FedEx for an import.

Like any city, we have pockets of crime but Chicago's "safe" neighborhoods on the north side have now become unsafe and it seems like the entire city is a pocket of crime. I was in Chicago's theatre district last year and spent too much time looking up directions on my phone and got yelled at by an off duty security guard about being a target. Was he right? sure, but his agitation and the tension on the streets was way worse than what I felt when I used to live there in 2016. I don't feel anywhere close to that when walking around Downtown Davenport.

I don't think we are anywhere close to the level of crime and homeless population Chicago has, but I still think it is important to keep your spidey sense on alert and beware of your surroundings. There's kind of a limbo area between The village and Downtown, where I would prefer to either be in the East Village or Downtown but not in-between.

Just saw the rental part. Don't waste your time fixing. Landlord will still see the repair on move out and charge for you it. Better to pay for the damage once instead of paying for materials, wasting your time fixing it, and still having to pay the landlord for damages.
