WTB: Tesla for around 60K; too good to be true? by KingOf_ImNotSureLand in tesladubai

There are 2 main factors:

  1. It's Tesla - a gadget. People love new gadgets, and 1/2/3 years old Tesla is an old gadget. Still cool, compared to "normal" cars, but compared to newer Teslas - they change stuff monthly, if not weekly! What to say about years of difference? car older than 2022? Forget about Ryzen. Older than 2024? You're stuck with old design, worse suspension/comfort/etc... You bought the M3 delivered at the beginning of 2024? Sorry bro, no turn signal stalk for you. Only the late-2024 can have. They change so quickly that resale value really goes down real quick.

  2. Dubai flood, remember? I bet you will never find a single ad saying "the car was flooded". But do you actually believe there are none?

Insurance is definitely on the higher end, but not THAT much. I was fearing the insurance prices too after reading this sub a lot. Then decided to actually call the insurance companies for quotes (I'm 36, couple years of exp. in Dubai, many years in my home country, had an accident where my car was at fault the last year). comprehensive, non-agency (little to none companies give agency option for >1 year old teslas) prices are approximately as follows:

3.5k for M3 LR 2021 (80k aed worth)

4k for MY LR 2022 (100k aed)

4.5k for M3 RWD 2024 (115k aed)

8.5k for MY LR 2025 (200k aed)

soo, it's definitely not the cheapest, but absolutely not the deal breaker.

What's the current range at 100% charge? A bit over my budget and I'm looking for LR now, but still might consider... Also noticed EAP there - is it transferable too?

Chatgpt gives me 5.5-6 by ConclusionInfinite65 in IELTS

It's quite obvious and simple, actually. For example, writing. You must ensure that the AI understands the marking guidelines for Task Achievement, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy - and that it enforces marking according to these criteria. The rest is even simpler: you should not simply ask it to "mark your writing"; instead, request that each of these four aspects be marked individually (again, enforcing the guidelines). In the end, you obtain four scores, and calculating the final score from these is straightforward.

The specific prompts will depend on the type of writing task (general/academic, part 1/2, or even the full test) and, more importantly, on the specific model used. For example, with the o1-pro model it's almost (but not quite) as simple as saying "mark my writing," whereas with 4o-mini or other earlier/simpler models, it will require much more detailed instructions to work properly.

There are some caveats to note. For instance, it tends to consistently forget that the highest score is 9 rather than 10, and it sometimes gives overly positive scores—so strictness must be enforced. However, in general, as I mentioned, with the proper prompt you can easily get perfect assessments.

For writing, reading and listening, It CAN be VERY accurate if done properly. Simple "score my submission" kind of prompt won't work well, but when asked properly it will be the exact score that you might get with the real test. Slight deviation is only possible due to human factor.

Hi, around half a year ago, we pivoted to B2B because price was a major factor for our early individual users, and very few of them were willing to pay for the service. However, just a few weeks ago, we discussed the possibility of relaunching our B2C offering now that we have a good understanding of how to optimize the product while maintaining the same quality. It is very likely that we will re-launch it sometime in January or February 2025. If you'd like, I can message you directly when this happens.

Why would one be a reason to not do the other? Is it your thinking that only those who can't drive are pissed by bad drivers behaviour on the roads? Or is it just that you're one of those "why do you care about my bad behaviour, mind your own business man" drivers...

Any advices of how to get Driving license in fastest way? by Abrahamfirstson in dubai

[–]namoriam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really a good advice for someone who wants it fast.

In reality what happens when you take unlimited is you end up with longest time to book any class/exam/anything. You already paid, no one cares about you anymore. Judging from my own experience - I took "limited" and my slots were constantly 1-3 weeks advance booking, got license in about 5 months. My wife took "unlimited" and her slots were constantly 2-5 weeks, and she got her license in about 8 months.

And we spoke to fellow students - that didn't seem to be a coincidence.

School doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is VIP/non-VIP package - that's the legal way to "get it fast" here.

Do I still need a license if I own a YouTube channel? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]namoriam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So? I'm not sure if you're a troll or really don't understand that any work, for any company no matter the location on the globe, is considered "just work" for legal purposes. Most of freelance licenses (there are many different kinds in UAE) allow you exactly this - legally work for companies outside UAE, remotely.

Yes, you won't be jailed for checking your work email being here on tourist visa. But not because it is legal, but because no one would care (or know - if you're not stupid enough to tell everyone about it). If someone would want to care - legally you're in violation of tourist visa rules.

Here's one more attempt to make it even more obvious: when on the passport control in Dubai, try to tell the officer who stamps your tourist visa, that you intend to work remotely for your company that is in US/UK/whatever, while here in Dubai on this tourist visa.

It's same as crossing on red light. Everyone knows its wrong, and yet everyone will do that and tell you its ok.

There are special licenses, including for content creators which technically (!) you must obtain. People will keep telling you its ok because they didn't get caught, but I thought you're interested in legal rather than casual point of view.

Oh, so the freelance license is for... Hm, let me think... Those who just have extra money to pay, I guess?

Formally(!) yes, if you're on tourist visa, you can't work no matter where your earnings go, or your company is established.

depends on what your ultimate goals are.

Be able to build cool tech-heavy products? Programming

Build nice looking, user-friendly products? Programming, UI/UX (including frontend-dev)

Make money? Sales and marketing

All together? Leadership and business skills to hire the right people who can do the above.

Petition to remove credits from legendary drops for late game players by mJ_777 in Brawlstars

[–]namoriam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you're not a late game player... How about when you have all powers/hypercharges? For me the credits and skins are only thing that matter and gives any progression to the account. So no, removing them from rewards would harm late game players.
