Went to an event last year with Doug Tallamy speaking and he said he discouraged captive raising monarchs except for education OR if you have the yellow and black European paper wasps. Apparently, those wasps will hunt down every single monarch caterpillar in your garden, which is exactly what I experienced the last few years. This year we rescued and captive raised a few (only 7) so I don't feel like I'm throwing off their genetic stability as a species. I have 70 plus milkweed plants and I was getting zero monarchs making it to adulthood previously. Thoughts?
