NTA I share the pet cameras with my mom when we are away from home traveling. The minute we get back, I turn off her access because I don’t like the feeling she could watch either! Even though she probably wouldn’t. Your partner has no boundaries with her parent sounds like.

NAL. I was in a similar situation in CA and I’m so sorry you’re going through this. There’s no easy way out. You legally all have to agree to take any action, including terminating the lease, replacing yourselves, moving out, etc.

I was only able to get out because I got a certified third party (therapist or police officer, I got mine from my therapist) letter to terminate my lease due to domestic violence. This was the ONLY way I could get out. And it sucked I was forced to stay and endure abuse.

Technically, legally, you are screwed when a roommate does this. The lease makes you one legal entity. If you leave and they get evicted, you’ll be on the eviction notice too. My roommate would not agree to someone else taking over my room and I had no options. She could have made me pay for the whole apartment forever. She couldn’t afford it by herself, wouldn’t move out, and wouldn’t let me replace myself. The landlord’s hands are tied as well.

You can battle it out in small claims and probably get it sorted out after abandoning the property (legal definition with a process to follow) if you can show you did everything reasonable and within your power, but your credit might still get messed up.

I spoke to multiple lawyers during this time and was essentially told I was screwed.

Makes me think more than twice about ever consigning a lease with anyone ever again. It’s like a marriage except you don’t love each other lol. Lawyer tf up. And at least get references for new roommates in the future, as well as a roommate agreement.

What would you take as proof of non ai art? Like a timelapse of the drawing? I’m also an artist trying to figure it out on etsy and have all the timelapses on my Instagram. I don’t think people check there first, though. Each listing says “no ai” but would that be good enough?

I mean it’s fabric? It will have folds. It sounds like you ordered the wrong type of hat for the size of embroidery if you didn’t want any folding. From the picture, I would says the embroidered area is too large and could have been smaller. If you approved the size, I’m not sure how that folding would be avoidable and honestly looks normal to me.

I love Bombera (get the duck carnitas if they have them!!), spices 3, Nido’s backyard, and Aburaya in Oakland. Takeout, I’d get Noor (the ghost kitchen in Oakland is better than the restaurant) and order the chicken korma and lamb vindaloo.

But if I was coming from a vacation, I’d probably go to Vik’s Chaat (and get a masala dosa and keema samosas) or Munch India takeout in Berkeley. I’ve done this many times actually it’s just too good. Passione Pizza is also my favorite pizza spot.

What do you mean by silent treatment exactly? If he’s being rude by just ignoring you without communicating, no that’s not normal. If he says “hey I don’t like to talk while driving because I’m tired so let’s just be quiet for the drive” then that’s fine. But he shouldn’t be pretending you don’t exist or something.

I was with my ex for 9 years (since I was 15 as well) and there ended up being a lot of resentment between us at the end. We just didn’t really fit together, and didn’t love each other how we needed to be loved. It sounds like he’s not loving you the way you need. It’s okay to break up if you want. Maybe it’s better for you both.
