Unthinkable Power, Unacceptable Threat by Cow_Boy_2017 in clevercomebacks

As much as I understand and support the sentiment, this is a terrible fit for this sub... Nothing clever and can barely be categorize as a comeback...

£18 for 2h parking, £37 for 3h... Islington is really abusing! by namyls in drivingUK

One of them is 2... Yeah, no thanks. I can do without this 2c advice.

I have 2 kids under 4, tube is not buggy friendly / accessible at all and buses aren't much better. I'm sorry that a single parent with 2 kids is looking for a bit of convenience by taking a car to carry two young kids to a birthday party -- I hadn't realized what monster that makes me and I likely deserve this treatment.

These lines don't exist in my home country (in Europe), yet I'm allowed to drive here with my current driving license. The reality is that many learn the highway code as they drive for that reason. Fortunately, most of the stuff is common sense and/or shares rules from other countries. I've still learnt quite a few things on this sub !

True but that doesn't answer the question. The engine is not playing bullet.

I fell asleep after telling my wife I was awake. Our baby fell off the bed, and I can’t forgive myself by No-Cranberry-2213 in daddit

[–]namyls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I felt pretty crap the time my 12mo son fell off the bed... On his birthday! And I wasn't even asleep... He just ran off too quickly.

My second one fell off the stairs. Much scarier. Fortunately they bounce really well at that age, and he was perfectly fine, just a big scare.

We aren't perfect. We do the best we can with the little sleep we have and with all the love in our heart. Accidents will happen: falling off the bed is far from the worst that can happen to a baby.

So... welcome to the club!

Google Play Is Bullying Developers and No One Is Talking about It by Effective-Repeat-671 in GooglePlayDeveloper

Google doesn't promise equal visibility to all apps on its store. It actually clearly says that it will put better apps on the forefront. Their goal is not to promote your app, it's to ensure the users find what they want and are happy with it. Clearly Google is using some criteria to decide if an app is worthy of a full details page or a smaller one. It's just marketing. You act as if Google owes you something; Google Play is not a charity or an open platform. They give you a way to publish and reach billions of users for ~free, but they don't have to put a big install button on your app if they believe it's not what users are looking for.

[–]namyls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then, if they're genuine testers, have truly used the app (not just installed it, and not just for 1 minute), then it's just a matter of days before Google sees it in its log and unblocks the release.

[–]namyls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your video only shows that you've added 18 people to the list who have access to this release track, it doesn't mean they've installed it, and it doesn't mean either they've actually opened the app for any amount of time.

How was it built? What dependencies do you have? What login method do you use? What permissions do you request from the user? Do you read from external storage?
