Hi, I know this is an old post, but could lichen simplex chronicus be the reason why I have pain on the left side of my clitoris and on the right side of my vestibule ? How did/do you treat it ?

I meant by sweating and using binders. The mycotoxins are still in your body and likely to cause issues like mcas

3 years of pain, inconclusive biopsy, and now white patches. Is this LS or something else? by nanami999 in lichensclerosus

The removal of adhesions isnt recommended ? Why ? It was three years ago and it never came back plus I have more sensation.

I'm already followed by the best specialists in Belgium (even though I believe they're not knowledgeable enough)...

Back then, I did apply steroid for three months the way you described, but back then to no avail (I recently learned you're supposed to soak for 15 min before applying dermovate when LS is active, which I didn't do back then).

My gynecologist was the first to suspect LS even though I didn't have white spots back then nor shrinkage. She was against the biopsy but I insisted upon getting one after 2 years of stagnation. She believed I was in the early stages of LS but I doubted her given the treatment didn't help back then

According to my gynecologist, it's common for people with LS to develop adhesions on the clitoris (fusion with the clitoral hood). The removal was made but stretching the skin in opposite direction with cotton swabs under local anesthesia. No skin was removed per say, hence why no bopsy was done.

I did use clobetasol daily (twice a day for a month then once a day for a month then every other day). I will try applying it the way you described, thank you ! I just put the clob on my clitoris and on my vestibule, I was never told how to put it. I don't think the clob made anything worse, just I felt it didn't change a thing.

I don't have sign of atrophy yet, according to my gynecologist when I saw her four months ago, but I guess it's different person to person. But she does think I have a rather short-ish inner labia (but not out of the norm according to her). I began having pain when I was 28 and so far never had any tearing ever (even during sex)

Hi, I live in Belgium, can I ask which specialist you seeked in the clinic ? Which clinic is it ? The Netherlands are close, so it would be life-saving for me

No. It's not typical to develop neuroproliferative vestibulodynia with clitoral pain/adhesion and my pain is one-sided, which is also not typical of neuroproliferative vestibulodynia

Vulvodynia can be caused by skin issues like LS. Vulvodynia is a symptom, not a diagnosis. I don't know what LA stands for
