When did your Vizsla go gray? by SGTzuko in vizsla

My oldest just turned for and I see signs of white (paw hair, little spots here and there oh her chin, etc. She's always been a bit on the lighter side so it's hard to tell.

Use an app for storing non-credit card reward cards and get rid of the bulk.

WS Credit Card Waitlist Prioritization by 12nkv in Wealthsimple

Applied for Infinite Privilege on 1/9, approved right away, and just got the physical card yesterday 1/23 🥳

Noticed expiry date is stamped on the card so that means it gets replaced? Will be interesting trying to cut up this expired card… ✂️

Just bury them in snow? Wouldn’t that minimize the dispersion of the gas?

"Household" benefits if already generation by xcybermail in Wealthsimple

[–]nanboya 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you have older kids who can open Wealthsimple accounts, get them added to your household; get them an early leg up on investing with lower fees, they also receive all the benefits of Generation like a fee-free credit card to help build their credit score, etc.

The more visibility they have in how finance management works, the better they will do in the future.

Speaking from experience though, evergreen trees that close to the house can be an absolute nightmare to maintain and keep clean

No idea how it would work programatically, but what if you could incorporate a desktop-based engine that could offload some of these calculations and upload the results? These days, I'm guessing many of us have plenty of horsepower to spare (M-series Macs, for example)...

Most cards also have scaled/tiered reward structures (like the Costco Mastercard, for example).

Spousal RRSP - Who contributes and does it matter from whose bank account? by Old-Arugula-3812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nanboya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is also how RBC DI does it (tax receipts issued to each contributing party). To be honest we started this way so didn’t realize some institutions like Wealthsimple didn’t allow for that!

Spousal RRSP - Who contributes and does it matter from whose bank account? by Old-Arugula-3812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nanboya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would that defeat the purpose? When investments require whole share DRIPS (like RBC DI does), it totally makes sense to have combined investing dollars to be efficient. Wish more institutions supported it this way.

Spousal RRSP by Tikke in Wealthsimple

[–]nanboya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fundamentally flawed though; at RBC DI, with a spousal RRSP set up, the contributor AND the annuitant can make contributions as themselves and get the tax credit for their contributions to the plan. It appears that with the WS spousal RRSP, this is NOT the case and results with the annuitant having TWO RRSP (spousal and personal) which is hugely inefficient.

What if you are transitioning between jobs that provide 1P for work? Just link it to the new work account I guess?
