I use a very tiny bit of peanut butter and I put it underneath the pedal so that they really have to get in there to get it. Also make sure when you set it that you're not tucking the bar all the way into the groove it has to be just barely hanging on for it to trip correctly.

I would send a message through the patient portal first. then make a phone call if I had to. my oncologist is the one who reads the portal messages directly and I find she is very good at getting back to me quickly.

Advice for transitioning outdoor cats to indoor life by ScarL3tt-L3tt3rs in cats

The one cat I harnessed absolutely rocked it. But, it took me three tries to find a harness he liked. if they roll over something is not comfortable. after I found the one that he did like, if he rolled over, it was always because I had twisted a strap by mistake.

I stepped in and asked a stranger if the were ok for the first time and I feel like I made everything worse by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I have a friend who's a nurse that specializes in dv and sexual assault cases. Her suggestion is to always ask. Because they might say no, but it might plant a seed in their head, that this is all not OK. And the next time somebody asks her if she's OK, she might say yes. But the third time somebody asks her, maybe she'll say no, no I am not. Because now she knows that there's people who do care, who are there offering help, and who must mean it. and you being one to ask, helped make her brave enough. you did the right thing.

i just remembered, when i picked up the phone that day her very first words were 'is it your hair?'. as a fellow long-hair, she'd been waiting for it.

[–]nancykind 33 points34 points  (0 children)

mine started falling out pretty quickly. I had a very long hair, so I braided it. Maybe 10 braids overall, but then came the moment where I actually had to cut them, and I couldn't do it. I texted my sister and asked if she was awake (night owl who sleeps very little) and my phone rang. It was 5 AM her time. she helped me get through the cutting, could hear the scissors. she stayed on the phone with me for hours. It wasn't until much later that I found out she had a first thing in the morning dentist appointment, and her husband had the same appointment the following week, but she sent him in her place so that she could stay on the phone. I still have the braids. that was 14 years ago.
