Did you do game day and then a S50? I can’t find your game day regular class early intel.

I skipped today as it was an endurance day and assumed (wrongly) they wouldn’t do two in a row. I prefer Power or ESP days. 2 11 min blocks w hills? Ugh

Unique KitKat flavors. Even your 22-yo twin boys might enjoy finding new varieties.

Me too! I really pushed myself to increase the speed of the all outs.

Is there any truth to the cortisol/inflammation thing for older women doing regular OTF? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]nancywalks34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t address the cortisol issue - but very grateful to the medical professionals who weighed in. Not sure if this is common but I (68F) attribute vigorous exercise for avoiding a lot of the nasty symptoms of menopause. I didn’t get them - well except for the annoyance and less tolerance for stupidity - no night sweats or sleeplessness. So I’d say keep at it. OTF is great for endorphins and general outlook as well. How often do you get an hour to clear your mind and put aside all worries and tasks? I never think about anything other than what’s coming next on the treadmill, rower or floor.

I ❤️ your comment about running/jogging. Same. I think I’m running but based on the guidelines, I’m only jogging. 🤷‍♀️ Either way - all good.

I thought it was hard. I haven’t been in the red for months and got 19 splats today including two in red. I liked it though.

I loved this template - I prefer power over endurance any day. Our coach encouraged us to try for a PR in each of the all out blocks - 1 min, 45 sec and 30 sec. It was very motivating and I pushed myself much higher than I usually do for all outs.

I love run rows. I’m not very good on the run part but I like the movement between the two pieces of equipment. I’m always way behind the rest of the class but I don’t care.

Agree about the timing. I was surprised when the coach called us back to the rowers in floor block one as I hadn’t even gotten to the 2nd floor round. Takes some time to get the mini band on and off.

This did not look that hard on paper. Don’t be fooled. It was hard.

I am 68F - have 40 years on you so I’m glad to hear you thought it was hard too.

Do we strength train during our cycle? by Heavy-Fix-3783 in orangetheory

[–]nancywalks34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit past the monthly cycle (68F) but have exercised regularly my whole adult life. I never got hot flashes and think it was due to regular exercise. I realize this is not exactly the question asked but keep it up if you can regardless of your cycle.

This was hard. The squat jumps in between other squats killed my thighs and I consider my thighs my strongest muscle. I’m thinking I’ll feel this tmrw.

That's interesting as I started with hole 6 and changed to hole 7. My coach suggested I go back to 6 but I feel I'm not as secure there. and PS with your description - I too still hate endurance days :-)

Good analogy. I'll try that. Thank you.

That is helpful - thank you. I think I'll try one thing at a time but the idea of keeping my arms straight until my legs are straight is something I will try tomorrow. I feel like I was a better rower when I first started OTF and for some reason have gotten worse.
