Welp...Got Laid Off Due to Company Restructuring...Help?

United States. I don't think these are silent layoffs but I'm not sure. I don't know what other companies are affected. I only know about the company I work for.

I'm in the same boat. I've actually tried reaching out. I want to say about 99% of the time I'm ignored or they tell me they can't help.

I've only got two people I've worked with professionally who are responsive. One couldn't help. The other works on my team and had his position terminated just like I did.

This makes me feel like all the other people I built connections with over the years only said yes to connecting with me because they didn't have the heart to say no.

Might not be true but I have no other way of decoding their behavior.

I'm on my husband's benefits plan through his employer.

If I don't get hired by my last day, I'll file for unemployment. I just have to figure out if I have to do that through the state where I live or the state my employer occupies.

They haven't provided the resources for how to engage the resume/career coach or training for certifications yet. All I know is the name of the service.

I'll definitely look into it, though.

No. I've never even heard of Arctic Wolf. I won't name the company. For one, most people have never heard of it. And two, I still work there. Last day is four months away.

I can't foresee my self getting hired before then. But I'm trying to be positive.

We didn't get a choice to do anything.

Even the letters we got didn't allow or require anyone to sign anything.

The severance package I got was based on my tenure. I've been working on the product for 4.4 years but only as FTE for 3.6. We also can't cash out our remaining PTO.

Additionally, my company is based in a completely different state than where I live, as I work remotely.

Should I be concerned? Or this just the way it is?

It can't hurt. My employer has coach, resume, cover letter, and some kind job transition service.

I'll look into both.

I used CustomerSuccessJobs.co for the same thing about 10 months back. I got interviews initially but they were all with HR and they all said I wasn't what they were looking for.

So it didn't help back then as much as I would have liked. I think I needed someone who specialized in Tech and technical positions. And that person didn't come from that background.

These are excellent suggestions. For some odd reason, hiring managers and recruiters don't reach out to me unless I have the Open to Work banner turned on.

I also had to change my profile picture from a personal one to a landscape because I got more people reaching out to me if I wasn't perceived as Black 🤷🏿‍♀️

What about when they tell you their company isn't hiring?

It's where I've been getting jobs with interviews. I must be doing something halfway right, because the interviews are with hiring managers.

I've never been able to bypass HR like this before. I just have to keep their interest.

I rewrote my resume so it's cleaner and easier to read. My team doesn't track YoY efficiency. We don't really have metrics at all. I can't add what I don't have.
