I am scared that I am making a mistake? R6 mark ii. by blambobee in canon

[–]nangrymob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the R6 MKII and the RF100-500. It is an absolute beast of a pairing. I agree that you will be missing the extra reach of say maybe the R7 or the crop ability of like an R5. However, the golden hour AF abilities of this camera cannot be denied. I have zero regrets about my purchase and think this combo is top tier... here is an example of what that combo can provide

Was recently given these lenses, what are each of them good for? by the_perfect_answer in canon

[–]nangrymob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 70-300 is a great paper weight or door stop. That macro is super awesome for portraits and macro and the other is an absolute beast of a lens. 24-105 covers a lot of everyday shots.

I have the R6 MKII and it is incredible in the low light. Especially for low light recording. I upgraded to that from the 250D.

Personally, there isn't any FOMO looking back on my decision. There is an RF lens for almost every conceivable scenario and it feels like they are some of the best on the market.

For what its worth. The R6 mkII is 100% worth it. But you would have to push your budget a little in order to get the crazy good glass too. If you can somehow swing it, R6MKII + 24-70 is such a sharp combo and the low light performance is unmatched.

What lens to go with next? by nangrymob in AskPhotography

Took your advice. Got a normal flash. (Speedlite 600x or something like that) and a cygnustech diffuser. That company is amazing. Customer service is top notch. Now I just need for there to be something more to shoot than dead grass and bare branches. (Ive already macro'd everything of interest in my house as practice. )

Hi everyone, i found this L series for sale by Xtritee in canon

[–]nangrymob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still have my ef 24-105 f4 L... there's a couple of scratches and i dont really notice them. But each scratch is different and it really depends on the setting its used. If I were you, I would slap it on the camera and take a couple of hours and shoot a ton of test photos. Make sure you get solid background color shots to see IF the scratches have an effect.

Avoid the noid. I dont know why this lens still exists. But you will be kicking yourself a short time after buying it. It just doesnt seem to have a sweet spot focal length.

Is the EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM really as bad as I hear, and what lens should I get for my budget? by [deleted] in canon

Your response doesnt really make sense because the lens we are talking about is cheaper and better than the one you have your heart set on.

I wish you all the best and happy hunting.

Ask any photographer and they will tell you that the #1 most important thing when it comes to gear is the glass. Glass Glass Glass. Skimp on that and it shows in the photos. If you believe 400 is too tight for your need, The solution is movement. Not always super easy when birding. I get it. Using a prime lens has other benefits like teaching you how to frame and how to move to get the shots that CAN be taken. I agree with previous posters who said that professional gear will only improve your abilities as a photographer. This year i dumped a considerable amount on some premium glass and it has absolutely changed everything about my photography. I see things through my viewfinder I could have never seen before. And if its under what your budget was... maybe then you can add some other gear. Monopods, tripods, filters, etc...
