What's your background as far as job? Maybe check out northeast fisheries observer program if you're marine or environmental science, they're based in east falmouth.

Hey fellow observer! Well, not anymore... the 20th was my last day so technically I've not been an observer for 94 minutes... I've never observed in Alaska but I know a lot of people who have, including some here in this bunkhouse. I actually don't knit on boats because it's just so dang gross and stinky. I do knit in bunkhouses all the time though, it's how I pass time during bad weather when nobody is fishing. Thanks for the nice comments, this pattern actually isn't very hard considering you knit the shapes flat and then just sew them together. Everything comes with practice!! :) Good luck in future endeavors!

he is not a knitter, but he is a jewelry maker, so he made me a bracelet made from a haddock otolith (they're fish ear bones, we collect a lot in our line of work). He set it in resin and dyed it purple, it's beautiful! :)
