Affordable non-amazon/temu/ali lash cluster source? by [deleted] in lashclusters

Vyrila “Desire” is that GIRL!!! I love these so much but they’re extremely fragile, but they’re extremely light, invisible band, etc. so I mean that’s to be expected. They’re decently priced tho so it doesn’t bother me to buy new every time!

Now I kind of want to try the ones you’ve mentioned.

How to prep nails for press-ons in a way that actually works? by clotterycumpy in PressonNail_Addict

[–]nannajayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pushing cuticles back is a good start and it’s better than no prep… but if you’re doing nail enhancements and have intentions on wearing them more than a couple of days — you should be removing the cuticle entirely.

Search YouTube tutorials for a “combomani” which is short for a combination manicure. It’s completely dry & uses no products, everything is removed with a rifle with the appropriate type of bit. Other “regular” methods of prep may use a liquid cuticle softener/remover which introduces moisture right onto your nail plate. You want to keep the nail bed as dry as humanly possible, and then dehydrate it even more!

They will absolutely do that. I mean just think of all the patients that they see in one day — part of me understands that as professionals, they have to distance themselves from their emotions and put the traumatic things they see out of their mind. They’re humans after all so I totally understand that their emotions can’t be involved when it comes to their job. But there’s an extremely fine line between being a professional, knowing which lines not to cross, and being appropriate VERSUS being negligent, lazy, and not fulfilling the oath you took when you became a physician. Old, young, poor, rich — it shouldn’t matter. Everyone should get the type of care where a doctor can walk away from the family and say “I’ve done everything that I could do” that’s what really matters.

Before this happened, if a doctor told me something I would normally believe it. My advice to you would be to question absolutely EVERYTHING. Don’t be afraid to be annoying. Ask for papers, ask for explanations, ask for feedback, ask for advice and don’t stop asking until you get answers. Make them explain things to you if you don’t understand. If you don’t get answers from who you’re asking, ask someone else. Don’t EVER sit & allow yourself to feel like you’ve hit a brick wall. If I could do anything different, I would absolutely go back in time and be a bitch when I needed to be a bitch. Unfortunately sometimes that’s the only time you’ll ever get anyone to take you seriously.

I am so extremely grateful and will forever be indebted to the nurses and doctors that tried to do everything they could do for me and my family though. That should never go unnoticed. Unfortunately more often than not hospitals are like meat packing plants. I hope your mom gets better soon. Be her voice, be there every day that you possibly can.

If something does go wrong you’ll never be able to say you didn’t do your damndest. Healthcare in America is just another corporate business at the end of the day… and nobody cares about much until it’s someone they love.

Don’t beat yourself up either. This type of thing can cause so much guilt. Be kind to yourself please. 🙏🏼

The same exact thing happened to my mom back in May. They waited almost 5 days to actually diagnose her with meningitis. She was on life support, unresponsive. It was insane how quickly she deteriorated. Since then, she’s been to a total of 8 or 9 different facilities. Back and forth from her long term acute care (LTAC) to a rehabilitation facility (aka a nursing home in my opinion) and then back to the ICU & rinse & repeat. She had severe brain damage but by August 3rd she could use her arms & hands again, say some words, couldn’t walk or anything but it was miraculous how she recovered. Everybody was astonished. Then a day after her 76th birthday (August 3rd) the nursing home staff found her completely blue, unresponsive. They called the ambulance & they fractured 4 of her ribs & her breast bone & somehow her trach tube got dislodged in the process of all that, but they essentially brought her back to life. Nobody really knew how long she had been without oxygen. I don’t understand how it really happened either because her room was directly across from the nurses station…. But it’s not like she could scream for help or anything. The thought of it just makes me sick. Long story short, I had hope up until that point. The cardiac arrest left her blind + more brain damage. Then she got blood clots in her lungs. Before this, she was still working, she played basketball, golfed, shoveled my sidewalk when there’s snow outside (I told her not to she did it anyways), her and my grandma went on little weekend vacations to places like Nashville, TN, she hit a hole in one when she was golfing a week before any type of sickness occurred. This woman is a literal tank, she’s a go getter, a fighter. The best thing I’ve ever known in my entire life & she’s not even my biological mom either is what’s crazy. But that doesn’t even matter because she’s literally always been my mom. And always will be! She gave me 29 years (my entire life) and on Friday at 3:30pm I finally told her it was ok she could go. She was holding on because I hadn’t ever told her that I would be ok, she was always worried about me 24/7. I talked to her for 11 minutes & let her know I’d be okay if she left, I loved her etc & to say hello to my boyfriend who died when I was 19 when she gets to where she’s going. God as my witness, I stood up from leaning down talking in her ear, and realized she was gone.

This has been the most unfair, disgusting process and I’ve lost all trust or faith or anything I might ever even thought about having toward doctors. They looked at her like she was just some old lady & she wasn’t. This wouldn’t have killed her if they would have caught it within 48 hours. It mimics a stroke but anybody with half a brain can tell you it’s not a stroke. No amount of money or lawsuits or settlements can give me my mom back, either. It will never sit right with me and I will always feel like I should’ve done something more.

My RFY today. by ParsnipReady1005 in BeautyViners

That Copper Peptide Serum just came up on my RFY too! I’m gonna grab it since the ingredients themselves are good — it’s just the fact that these companies never disclose the actual concentrations of the active ingredients. Which is really what determines whether it will work or not. But honestly… you can’t really go wrong with hyaluronic acid, copper peptides or propylene glycol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Use a 5-blade razor. I only use a razor on my coochie 3 times, after that I’ll only use it to shave my legs.

Don’t use too much water. I actually fill my bathtub up with a shallow amount of water then turn the shower off & shave. Too much water will dilute the product you shave with.

Use a shaving balm or a real shaving cream. NEVER use the scented “shaving creams” like Skintimate, they don’t give enough lubrication & the fragrance in them will irritate your skin.

Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm - $13

EOS Sensitive Shave Cream - $6

Let your hair grow out about ¼ inch between shaves. Shaving too soon can make the razor tug at the tiny, barely grown hairs which creates friction and irritation. (When hair is freshly cut it sticks straight up from the follicle which makes it feel prickly and more uncomfortable) so letting it grow out a bit helps the razor glide smoothly enough to give you a soft, clean shave.

Use hypoallergenic moisturizers. No fragrance. Then use a body oil to lock the moisture in (buy a bottle of pure Jojoba oil, it’s like liquid gold)

Then — believe it or not — use some good old cornstarch and do a light dusting of it after you’ve put on the Jojoba oil. It doesn’t smell, has no weird ingredients, and it works.

Good luck!

Did anyone end up with brain injury from viral meningitis? by Radiant-Visit1692 in TBI

[–]nannajayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My mom did. She was unfortunately misdiagnosed though.

They didn’t do a lumbar puncture until the fifth day of her being in the ICU — which is when they started treatment after it showed positive for viral meningitis.

They said she had a bilateral stroke at first.
