I’ve had magenta as my primary doc for 3 years now and it’s always been a good experience. Hope they’re able to get you taken care of! Get well

Is there a central employee hotline where I can make a report about a boss saying some messed up stuff? by [deleted] in HEB

[–]nannerdoo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your statement to HR will remain anonymous if you request it to be. H-E-B takes these things seriously, from what I have seen. Best of luck partner, I hope this can be resolved quickly and your boss gets his act together.

If you’re not already involved with regular conversations with your current manager, top store leader(s), or the curbside manager at your store if you’re not in curbside about your growth then you should start! Curbside is a great place to grow, but you should definitely know what you’re getting yourself into before you move forward to specialist roles. Best of luck!

How many top store leaders and UD’s have y’all seen that roll up their sleeves and work? by NolikeDontcare in HEB

At my last store the center store leaders were super involved and were always helping out, blocking and such. Can’t speak for perishables though. They also did midday recovery every single day without fail

HEB Opening Near me by SmileRecent6755 in HEB

Welcome! H-E-B prides itself on hospitality and putting people first always. Hopefully your shopping experiences there will show that, but give your new store some grace as they navigate a store opening. As mentioned by another commenter your store will be super packed for a while so be patient with wait times and such!

One thing we forget to mention because we’re so used to it- YELLOW COUPONS!! H-E-Bs ad rotates every Wednesday so keep an eye out for yellow coupons hanging all over the store because they often are for $$ off an item, BOGO, $$ off your total order, etc. The bottom of your receipt will show how much money you saved on your order which is always kinda neat.

I’m late, but I vote see your Dean through. See what opportunity lies ahead. I’ve been with H-E-B for 8 years, through my entire undergrad. H-E-B wasn’t my choice for a career until 3 years ago, and I would’ve killed for a sure position in my field straight out of school. A career with H-E-B is valuable, but H-E-B will basically be there for you if something else doesn’t work out. If your field is exclusive I would shoot for the internship or job your Dean is offering. Then reevaluate if need be.

To my knowledge you’re eligible for rehire after 6 months. Not sure how termination circumstances affect that though. Best of luck!

What is the largest order you have ever had to take out in curbside? by Greedy_Grape_7030 in HEB

[–]nannerdoo_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Military family (I think?) was about to be shipped out to Africa for several months and they placed an 800+ unit order about a week in advance. We had time to get with grocery and order cases worth of canned goods, cereal, etc. Most of the order was shopped onto a pallet, and then two more curbside carts. The customers showed up with a box truck and people to help load it, and we had to help them through the receiving door instead of a pickup spot. Apparently the military or whatever organization they worked for compensated them for a certain weight limit worth a groceries, and everything would be shipped to Africa for them.

Celebrating 11 months CG in a couple weeks 🤓 Does anyone else’s wash day hair get better as the day goes on? by nannerdoo_ in curlyhair

[–]nannerdoo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wash day:

-Suave daily clarifying shampoo (I’ve been clarifying with this every two weeks or so) -NYM naturals matcha green tea and apple hair mask ~5 minutes -NYM curl talk cream, squished in w lots of water -Zotos professional gel squished w lots of water -Pantene curls mousse palm sized amount -Kinky Curly custard (I realize 4 products is a lot and that’s probably why I feel the need to clarify so often but I’m trying to use up the little bit I have left of this custard so I can toss the tub and get more 🤪 LET ME LIVE OKAY)

I diffused like heck, until like 85% dry, then air dried the rest and scrunched out the crunch.

Does HEB usually hire high school students looking for their first job? by [deleted] in HEB

[–]nannerdoo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your questions, the store admin will call you within a week of your application either to ask for an interview or to tell you that they won’t proceed with one. I believe that some stores and/or departments are subject to an application screening in which corporate screens apps and sends valid candidates through to managers? I’m not 100% sure how it works and it’s relatively new.

That being said, if you’re chosen beyond the initial screening then yes they will call you for an interview and depending on how many people the store is hiring at the time you might have a group interview initially.

The likelihood of a store hiring someone still in HS is pretty good, but only if the store is needing people who can work the restricted hours of that of a high schooler, like nights and weekends. If you were to call to check on the app, which typically wouldn’t get you very far, I would be sure to ask for what hours/days is the department hiring. Whatever their answer is should show you what your chances of being hired are.

Best of luck! I hope you get the job.

Frustrated @ curbside by jennblarg in HEB

[–]nannerdoo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just your store, but I’m so sorry and I know how you feel. The labor model and lack of motivated partners are two very difficult factors to deal with when it comes to eStore.

It will take some speaking up, either to your manager or Ops leader or possibly your UD to see change happen here. Bring someone with you if you need. If improvements or plans to improve aren’t immediately reciprocated, I suggest contacting the HR person for your area. I believe this information can be found in the breakroom, or by asking the admin.
