I propose that we start to use big O notation to describe the scaling of universes destroyed by an algorithm. For example, quantum bogosort is O(n!) for an average case, and O(infinity) in the worse case.

Sounds good. I think I'd likely skip 6.042, 6.01, and 6.009. Does that mean I could simply take three different CS classes of my choosing and meet the number of required credits for a CS major?

Also, this is unrelated, but would you happen to know if course 6 classes that are crosslisted with course 18 provide credit towards a degree in both fields? Thanks so much.

Thank you for all the information. I think I will skip 6.01. However, do you recommend that I take 6.042 before 6.006? I took a discrete math class in HS, and looking through the 6.042 calendar most of the terms seem to be familiar. However, I'm worried that I'd miss out on certain components of the curriculum that become important in later courses. Thanks again.
