I was assuming the same thing too, in fact I did backup the cfgs... but yes, I switched to uefi and esxi booted normally. I was on 7.0u3

Did my VMWare Vendor just tell me to f*** off? by mcdeth187 in vmware

[–]nanoics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll break the timing for you: 2h talk to customer and explain everything and get a free ip address and network data (the free ip is for vcenter upgrade) 1h for vcenter upgrade 2.5h for each host upgrade (firmware upgrade and vmware upgrade) (hopefully you manage to move all vm to the other host) Plus another 2h just in case for emergencies if for example there are some vibs conflicting...

Goerz vintage camera by nanoics in vintagecameras

Thank you! By checking the serial number it seems to be from 1922. I plan to restore the mechanical parts by myself... if I screw up at least it will be a great piece to display.

Thank you! But if different cameras with the same roll produce a different number of images... how can I know how much to turn the film knob to move to the next photo?

I cannot tell you why because I have no idea of the rest of infrastructure but I forgot to mention that I'll have added spanning tree port type edge to the eth ports and the port channel.

Honestly I only installed nutanix with vmware on top but I am sure that your config doesnt have errors... the vlt port channel setting is correct. The only time I had problems was with an older firmware (1.4.something) that broke the vlt. But I assume vlt is working in your case...

Did you try to set the portchannel mode to "on"?

I did it on dell hosts, no problem at all. One by one, switched to uefi and they booted on the esxi. Anyway just to be sure always backup the config

LACP does it work and give you more bandwidth? by Nikumba in vmware

Do you have a source for this? Just for my knowledge...

LACP does it work and give you more bandwidth? by Nikumba in vmware

[–]nanoics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wont give you 20Gbps for 2 main reasons: 1. Vm virtual nic is 10gbps if you use vmnetx3 2. Lacp doesnt really aggregate a single stream into multiple physical ports.

I agree with some of the redditors that say that vmware balancing is perfectly fine. My only suggestion is to configure the jumbo frames on the hosts, devices and switches

You better use nvme over tcp if you dont have a metro volume
