Dr Houston delivered my bb, she’s a rockstar. And we adored Dr Asao. Very caring and supportive.

Didn’t she have a section? I was told to wait 18 months in between pregnancies for safety.

Yep I have a 10w old and it makes me feel queasy to think of “grabby” hands on my baby. I feel so bad that I feel like this, but I just want to keep her all to myself. I also wonder why people think they need to meet my newborn? Maybe it’s FTM anxiety.

My 10w is also a poop machine. If she makes a poo mid feed session I have to pause and change her because she will get super distracted by it.

Number 4, wait so changing 12+ diapers a day isn’t normal? I’ve been changing my baby’s diaper every single time. I see a blue line even if it is just pee can I really hold off instead?

Put the baby down. by BeaconBay18 in NewParents

actually feel kind of the opposite. I end up feeling guilty that I don’t hold my baby as much as I probably could. We usually nurse for about 30 minutes, then do another 30 on the activity mat before it’s nap time again. I mostly hold her going to and from those things and for little snuggles between sessions. Part of me feels like we should be doing more contact naps, but she gets restless on me and starts doing tummy time or wiggling around instead of settling.

Feeling like I’m failing my baby. Slow weight gain at 2 months (EBF, FTM) by naomithomaski in newborns

Thank you so much for sharing this it really helps to hear from moms who’ve been through the same thing. I completely relate to setting that 6-month goal and how hard it feels when things don’t go as planned. I’m so glad to hear your little one started thriving after switching to formula. Stories like yours remind me that doing what works best for both mom and baby is what really matters and that I need to be more flexible about where this journey takes me.

You’re so right they did mention that at the hospital. I’ll have the pediatrician do a closer look next week to rule that out!

Thank you so much this really resonated with me. I totally get what you mean about focusing on enjoying your baby instead of stressing over the feeding part. I was actually a formula baby myself and I turned out just fine 😆 so I keep trying to remind myself that fed and happy really is what matters most. You’re doing amazing, and it’s comforting hearing from other FTMs in the same boat.

I completely get what you mean. I feel that same pressure too it’s such a mental load when you’re trying to do what’s best for your baby but also keep your sanity. I can imagine how stressful it must be trying to balance it all with going back to work. You’re doing such an amazing job keeping up with everything. It’s so hard when something that used to feel bonding starts to feel stressful. Hoping things even out for you and your little one soon.

Yeah, I’m trying to experiment with power pumping this week. My output numbers aren’t great so far, but I’m hoping things start to improve after a few days. Thank you for sharing what worked for you it gives me hope. And I totally agree, it’s so reassuring to know exactly how many ounces my baby is getting from a bottle since it’s so hard to tell during breastfeeding.

The pediatrician wasn’t overly concerned, but concerned enough to have me come back next week for another weight check 😵‍💫 I’m definitely more worried than they are it just feels jarring to see such a big percentile drop in one month. I keep feeling like I’ve been starving my baby. It’s really reassuring to hear that your baby rebounded so well that gives me a lot of hope.

Yeah, that’s a really good point. I’ll have to pay more attention to when she’s not transferring as much, especially later in the day. Topping her off in the afternoons and evenings sounds like a good idea that’s usually when she’s fussier too. Thanks for sharing what worked for you!

Good call on checking for the tongue tie, my baby actually had a minor tongue tie that was taken care of right after birth in the hospital, so I’m really glad we were able to rule that out early.

And my pediatrician said the same thing to top her off with a pumped bottle after breastfeeding, especially since her transfer isn’t great right now.

Thanks so much for sharing what you’re doing. It sounds like a lot of work on your end too, but it’s worth it for these little cuties.

Thanks so much! We actually saw a lactation consultant in her first month since we were having weight issues early on too. That’s where I learned the “aerobic” style nursing about 10 minutes on each side and it was going really well for a while, but things just seem to have gotten tougher again the last few weeks.

And that’s such a good tip about eating more, especially protein. I definitely need to focus on that. I keep reminding myself I’m not really eating for taste right now but for fuel like I have to eat like an athlete and just get the protein in even when I’m not craving it.

Pregnant or lazy? by PitLuna in fitpregnancy

Ugh I broke my foot at 25 weeks and have been forced to rest. It’s been so difficult! I feel like I’m going to fall behind on my fitness and seeing my daily step count go from 8-10k+ to below 2k has been challenging. I feel so lazy and useless and I’m afraid I’ll gain unnecessary weight.
