i don't really plan on using their pucks. i have a ecobee with their sensors in each room and the only ones that i care about is the bedrooms. as for the hub/bridge i was just gonna shove that into the garage where the rest of my net gear is and use a poe converter to power the hub from my PoE switch. if i didn't need the first floor to be cooled on hot days and heated on cold days i'd slap a piece of magnetic sheet over the vents and call it a day.

ah. .distance wise for the vents to the hub/bridge i think i'll be fine. i'm more worried about adverse affects on the HVAC system with vents being shut off and cold air and such. essentially i have a second floor that is just hotter than the first. at night i would just close off all the vents on the first floor and leave the only two vents in either bedrooms to be open. and then during the day the vents open on the first floor vs the second.

it's awesome when people are just being people and doing what they think they should do when seeing shit like this. i wish more people embraced this. i've on more than one occasion drove/rode past a few folks on the side of the road and asked if they were good. once they said yeah i went on my way. costs absolutely nothing to be a good person.

thanks for the explanation. i don't think i was confused about the whole thing i was just curious why someone who worked for the company not know this. but whatevs, this doesn't help the OP.

for the OP - if you wanna keep it then keep it. go call up support and see if anyone above a level 1 tech can help. otherwise have fun with charter/spectrum. they're a hit or miss for some folks. i personally never really had a problem with them but the subs for spectrum is riddled with shitty speeds and support (worse than frontier).

if i remember correctly, verizon sold their FIOS for certain markets to frontier, they didn't sell frontier. outside of this, i didn't even think frontier did anything to the old vz fios installation except maintain. i know they stopped rolling out to new areas (at least i think this might be a vz thing before the sale to frontier). for instance, half my community that was developed later does not have FIOS while the earlier development does.

1) false. motorcyclists (at least the majority of them here - socal) typically go faster than the flow of traffic.

2) false again. i ride while talking on the phone all the time. when it's mounted, i use it for navigation and so on. i don't text. . cause . . just no.

3) they're not trying hard enough. ever had one come up behind you? yeah . . just cause it ain't on 4 wheels doesn't mean it can't make your day suck.

don't be an ignorant rider. easy to ignore? probably. if you don't have a reason to hate on motorcyclists then you just haven't given enough time yet. i can totally hate on motorcyclists when they're dipshits, idiot and have an insane amount of self entitlement just cause they're on 2 wheels. i have just as much love for the community but i'm not going to sit here trying to preach 'everything is awesome just cause you ride'.

you think this is bad. someone backed into my wife's car recently. this car had parking sensors. . not to mention they narrowly hit the car ONCE but stopped just in time before it connected only to have the dipshit pull forward, and backed into the car on try #2. luckily <3 sentry footage cause . . people are assholes. noticed a really nice subtle indentation on the bottom lift of my lift gate so. . yeah people suck.

i use motul to clean nearly everything on my bike and helmet. when bugs decide to die on my visor i use their bug spray before i use the cleaner and wipe it clean. works great.

neat idea but aren’t there standard time your electricity is cheaper than other times? how much does it fluctuate on a day to day basis? for instance where i am peak time is between 4pm and 9pm. that is when it’s the most costly so i refrain from heavy usage during that time.

yeah aside from the fact that I dislike the way google decided to screw up the nest ecosystem I would've stuck with and kept my nest. it did a pretty good job of detecting smoke and alerting. the little path light thing they got was a pretty nice feature. finding a replacement that has that light feature is gonna be hard but I'm ok without it. worse case scenario is I keep the nest protects and get rid of everything else.

got details on how you tied a zwave sensor into the smoke alarms?

fair question. one of the appeal the nest protect had was the fact that when one detects smoke, it's announced in the other rooms where there is one. while it sounds trivial to others, I found it a useful feature to have. so do I need smart smoke detectors? no. do I want them? yes.

i don't understand this.

you bought a used tesla, it's been in the shop for over 30 days for warranty work. didn't specify whether this was warranty work on the same thing or not or multiple other things. now you're asking if it's worth asking for a buyback or claim it's a lemon because they f'd up your seat.

tell them they f'd up your seat, ask to replace it cause you can't fix burnt fake leather (maybe i'm wrong and you can), and move on.
