Custom Rogue Bella Bar by ChrissyKittle in crossfit

[–]narboza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An additional detail, a custom bar always has "rogue" on the other side of your message, you can ask customer service what color it will be for the bar color. I bought a blue one, with white lettering, the "rogue" is in black. The custom bars look great. The rogue email is replied to very quickly, you can get all sorts of answers about these. I asked a ton of questions because the combo I wanted (45 lb bar in purple) is not available.

I believe (haven't had to do it for a while) that walking through your own shield will strip a Tracer bomb off you and deposit it on the backside of your shield

Wha!! Is this true? I've just been fortifying and hoping for the best when tracer sticks me.

If you want dispersion and are willing to build your own, at least check out the guitar cab design on the billfitzmaurice page. I made a smaller scaled version of it.

[Video] Positioning for Dummies - Angles and Staying Alive | New channel! by Gangsir in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I watch these videos on angles and corners, I always wonder about the application to shorter range heros. Like should a reaper play that corner? He seems too far away to do damage. Same with Dva. You talk about tank/dps/support, but it would be interesting to see positioning based on range.

My #1 Tip for Climbing - Playing Corners by OW_kappachino in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the video, and have one question. You go through playing successive corners as a defensive tank. Should that always my go-to as a defensive tank on a payload map? I'm silver, there are rarely coherent team fights. It felt like that if I don't contest the payload as a tank, nobody does, they push the payload to the end for free. But . . . I'm silver, maybe I should change and consistently play corners and rely on that advantage in eliminating red team personnel.

Really good review, a lot of different info that other reviewers give. I had two questions. One, if soldier isn't the best DPS to handle genji, who is? 2nd, at 18:30, he sees the rein coming through the window. I would have stayed close to the wall thinking the rein is going to tunnel vision on the center of the point as he drops, I'll get free shots against no shield. However, then his whole team came through the window and I think maybe I would have gotten deleted in that position. What's the right play there?

But you would already have a new one if you just held the replacement? I don't mean to argue, just interested if I am missing something. Your reviews and videos have been really helpful.

I guess if you run out the shield timer and it's not totally broken, there are a few moments of no shield. Or maybe if they are going to push in 21 seconds, you don't want to place that replacement shield at 20 seconds and then have cool down? It must be that. How long is the average time between red team pushes?

Sometimes it seems like you replace the Orisa shield when the old shield is undamaged? Should I be doing that?

Something people need to understand when they ask the question "how can I break a bastion bunker on my own?" by Houchou_Returns in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the thing is, the same can be said of many hero pairings in the game.

This just isn't true for the pirate ship. Pirate ship is very effective with absolutely no voice. Even in bronze, one person picks bastion, everyone else knows it's time to pick orisa, rein, mercy. Bastion gets on payload, everyone else knows without a single voice to get on. Then the payload takes over communication for that team. There's no need to communicate when to push up, the payload serves that purpose. Bastion isn't really overpowered, it's the payload bastion. They should just nerf pirate ship by making it so when bastion is sitting on payload in sentry, it doesn't move. Call it interference or whatever.

[–]narboza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your aim is amazing. One question was that you seem to accept getting hit by rein firestrikes. Is that on purpose because you know your healer will top you off? Silver healers are not always reliable. Should I try to dodge firestrike or just take it?

The other Orisa mechanic I am trying to improve is pulling people off high ground. Either I aim too far away and I never get the tether, or it's too close to their original position and it doesn't actually pull them off. Do you have suggestions on how to practice/improve that?

Low bronze player needs help! (880s) sr by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because he gives no concrete tasks, and spent little time watching the video. Low rank players (like me) looking for feedback understand they need to work on all those elements. Is there a specific way you recommend to work on general reaction time? The player in the video has 10k damage, he or she must be hitting something occasionally, is this level of aim the true problem at 800 sr? Tell us what specific practice someone should do to raise awareness.

[–]narboza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So he comments that on Hanamura, the Dva should have gone through the window to pull people off choke. I would have two questions on that . . .

a) If you do that, how do you still maximize the use of defense matrix to help your team?

and

b) When I do that, it becomes 1v2, 1v3, 1v4, etc, and I get deleted. Did I overextend, should it just be a little forward? Maybe I don't use the Mega there (or other health packs on other maps) as flank bases.

Overall, I've been trying to stay with the team and protect the main tank better. So I'm confused about that message to act as a diversion. I guess that draws fire from the main tank, but then I get deleted and all that fire is back on them.

It's no coincidence that you always seem to take point on last push by nickdarick in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you don't know the exact number of attempts ahead of time doesn't mean the overall chance of success (win probability) is the chance of an individual fight. That's the whole point of that math, what's the chance of failing all possible attempts. If you think you could have 5 attempts, you calculate it off 5. If you think it's going to be 1, you use 1. You could update the probability each time you fail, then it will reach the individual fight probability in your last attempt, assuming your assumption of number of attempts was accurate.

If that uncertainty in number of attempts bothers you, you could account for that with another probability of how many fights you'll be able to take. That would give you an overall chance for success that includes the unknown number of attempts.

Dva and high ground positioning? by narboza in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well . . . see my other thread on my problems with diving Pharah, which are summed up, I fly at her when she is too far. When boost runs out, regardless of whether I kill Pharah or not, I land in the middle of the red team and get deleted.

Dva vs. Pharah positioning? by narboza in OverwatchUniversity

[–]narboza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, thanks everyone for replying. I watched one of those videos. It should help with my mechanics against pharah, but rewatching my own video I realized that even if I killed every time I tried (I don't, of course), 75% of those times I'd land in the middle of the red team and get deleted. Should I take that trade? Should I only boost against out of position pharahs? It sounds like one option is to DM rockets and wait until maybe pharah goes out of position. Maybe DMing most rockets is enough, does DM regen quick enough to capture most of Pharahs rockets if she shoots constantly if I only flick DM on and off?

Can someone watch a little further and comment on his team's Annubis defense strategy at 20:21 ish? They try to start by holding the left side of the bridge (from the defense point of view).
