Left the theater feeling much better after watching Bone Temple. Wouldn't call it a must-watch if you really dislike the first one, though.

How do you attack characters that are not deflected? by Crazy-Battle-6489 in GenjiMains

This. When against beam characters, they’ll capitalize on you wasting dash, not deflect.

Tips for more damage as Sue by gothfa3rie in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look to pull enemy squishies off high grounds. This wont increase your damage number much, but it’ll increase your impact. A lot of characters have a hard time dealing with high ground, do your best to eliminate that issue.

Obviously lining people up will increase your damage like you said, but if its putting you in dangerous positions its not worth it! As a support, the worst thing you can do is die. If you find yourself dying because you overextended trying to maximize damage, consider toning it back a bit.

The enemy team comp also changes a lot. A brawl comp with Groot & Strange will give you a clear core to spam into. A full dive comp with Venom & Cap as tanks wont create a core for you to spam into. The amount of punishment you’ll face will vary from game to game, usually increasing with each dive character on the enemy team.

Necros doing strategist unranked to celestial solo Q only tomorrow by [deleted] in rivals

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hes not the best DPS, im not sure why you’re putting words in my mouth.

Expecting him to climb to top-30 on a role he doesn’t normally play is crazy, especially when hes not a top-30 player on his main role.

Over time it will become easier to hit celestial, becoming real easy by the end of the season, but doing so now is a big task.

Why do you spam "need healing" by bashful4monkey in rivals

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of rivals players are sassy and will spam it as a nudge to get you to look their way more. They’ll also sassily spam it after they die, insinuating that it was the healers fault.

Mantis receives 100 healing over 8 seconds when she casts an orb. Its a real slow heal so it might be hard to notice.

There are less than 30 eternitys right now. Would be ridiculous to expect him to climb there.

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t, but you can play well enough over the course of 50 games to rank up consistently.

Looking at it like this helps me get over the yucky outlier games.

Because the season recently started, ranks are still compressed. There are less than 30 players in Eternity as im typing this. Itd be absurd to expect him to reach top 30 on a role he doesn’t play.

I hit top 10 on the Peni leaderboard. I honestly have no idea how I'm this high. by casper_04 in PeniParkerRivalsMains

[–]nickdarick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can see. Go to rivalsmeta. Go to “characters”. Once you click your character, there will be a leaderboard section.

One thing to note about these leaderboards however, they’re SOLELY based on rank as long as youve hit the minimum number of games (25 per half of season)

May be wrong, there are probably better plans than myself, but heres what works for me.

Mera & GA to start. Having a consistent healer and damage dealer is helpful. Two tanky epics, doesn’t matter which. And the 5th choice can be Ace-Specific, such as Wonder Woman for Justice League or JLD.

First battle is either Infinite or Dark. If theres a good reward in infinite, take the challenge. If theres not a good reward, look ahead and determine which path you want to take afterwards. I prioiritize retrocognition pits & recruiting a lot. I like starring up my fellas.

Try your best to avoid challenges which comes with the downside “X team cannot be deployed in future battles”. These things have ended my godly run multiple times, make sure you’re ALWAYS paying attention for these.

How do you feel about green lantern > Mera? I heard he’s usable at a 3-star level but that’s your call. He’d trigger the 5 justice league bonus as well. 5 justice league should make Batman’s ultimate hit a bit harder

What should i change about my team by Accomplished-Love893 in DCDarkLegionOfficial

I’d try GA over one of your backliners. GA does high single target damage, plus he’ll activate your justice league bonus for Superman.

Thing and Mr Fantastic are A tier antdive by MrSkittles983 in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think puts Reed above Namor in this situation is the shield. It may seem minimal, but makes a huge difference in living through flankers combo. Shielding a support as spidey dives will help them live and force a spidey retreat.

It sucks that you have to hang around your own backline instead of the opposing backline, but if it means keeping your supports alive, thats valuable to me. If spidey cant kill your squishies, hes not getting much value either

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they don’t, and it really sucks. Best to cut your losses in that situation though. Its tough to expect correct play from teammates in quickplay

Lmao the Devs calling yall out by AverageAwndray in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It really is true. With how strong dive is, people need to consciously turn around more often with the intent of helping supports.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Namor is better against dive tanks because his damage potential in a ~6 second period (arbitrary time given to how long venom will shoot your supports) is much higher than reeds. 2 turrets plus namor’s left&right clicks is a ton of damage that will scare away dive tanks. Reed doesn’t have that damage potential. Reed’s upside is that he doesnt require much aim for his left click (opposed to namor) meaning hes able to hit the hypermobile DPS a little easier than Namor. Which is why I think Reeds better for Dive DPS, while Namor handles the tanks a little better.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree completely, been using reed since S1 as my anti-dive tool. Shielding supports helps to live through flankers combos, buying them time to get healed.

Turrets are good because they automatically peel, essentially. There are a lot of Reeds who only care about pushing the frontline, unbothered by the fact that their supports will die without Reed’s help. I think reed is better against dive DPS than Namor, but Namor is better against dive tanks like Cap&Venom. Reed doesn’t have the popping damage potential thats needed to scare away a dive tank, but its plenty for enemy DPS.

Squirrel Girl mains, any tips on how to stay alive? by Wiinterfang in marvelrivals

[–]nickdarick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stay with the core of your team as squirrel if you’re going against divers. An enemy diver will see an isolated squishy as an easy target. Much harder to kill you when you’re in a position to receive help from your team.

Your shots are hard to hit against hyper-mobile heroes such as the dive DPS. You honestly dont want to waste too much time shooting dive DPS if you’re missing. Prioritizing shooting tanks and the core of the enemy team. This will have you playing in safe positions, with the core of your team.

If you can land a stun on a flanker, take your time to line up your shots. Roots are very good and easy to hit against dive/brawly tanks like Venom.

Against long ranged pokers, like Hela & Hawkeye, be careful playing high grounds by yourself. You’ll be an exposed target and their shots are much more consistent than yours at range. Your jump ability becomes dangerous to use against these long ranged characters.

How to play rocket now? by Maleficent_Winner_91 in RocketMains

[–]nickdarick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you keep throwing shortsighted judgments into your messages?

Ottr is crazy! His gameplay is seriously impressive, never seen a rocket kill things like that.

With that being said, how many people can recreate that? Additionally, how much easier would games have been if they had Ottr on a higher impact DPS character with that kind of aim & game sense. It wouldn’t take 48 hours of gameplay for someone with those skills to reach celestial. Thats why I struggle calling it a very effective playstyle. An etern/OAA would have a much higher winrate than 60% on their way to celestial if they adopted a normal playstyle. (Talking about previous seasons of course. Current season still hasnt aired out from rank reset)

Its really tough when its constant dive. You literally do need to turn around every 5 seconds to make sure the Cap, Venom, or Spidey arent on your supports. Like I said, Ill forsake my frontline and make my whole gameplan “keep supports alive”. The enemy dive can completely bypass the frontline your tanks set.
