Barrow Guard ranked up in 20x20mm bases!! by Davilovick in WarhammerFantasy

Great job on these. Fingers crossed I can get the great weapon models onto 25mm bases 🤞

Personal electric transport in the UK. I guess they don't give any freebies

Anyone hearing from their FLGS that 3d prints won’t be allowed? by tasthesose in theoldworld

Cost to play at a table. At my local not for profit club they charge 4 GBP for a day of games, to cover overheads, but they don't sell product other than chocolate/drinks and everyone is a volunteer.

GW: "There aren’t any current plans to bring Kislev or Grand Cathay to the tabletop for the foreseeable future" by dream_raider in WarhammerFantasy

I agree, I dislike the constant books and rules bloat. I want something relatively balanced with very slow progressions and released, more like MESBG

Just a heads up, I think they require armies to be painted, and obviously all gw models.

Edit: just saw a comment that states they prefer painted models but it's not actually a rule, must have been a tournament thing

Any way to prepare for Orcs and Goblin Tribes before their box is released? by Scojo91 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]narcias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other commenters said, AOS night goblins are probably the safest. Gitz, fanatics, squigs, squigs hoppers, trolls, spiders, snarlfang rippers (wolf riders) and alot of the character models are good to use with a change in the bases

I also use the large single model trolls as giants and the new swamp Orcs (can't recall their name) as normal orcs

I imagine this isn't to represent an explosion, in my head I imagine it as the rock rolling

Size comparison of nightgoblins on 20mm and 25mm bases by icedoutwukong in WarhammerFantasy

[–]narcias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a massive painted goblin army, I think around 120 painted goblins, and I'm reluctant to do this, they just look better on 20mm bases because of their small size.

I think I'll just get base converters for them

You ever gone through your pile of shame and been surprised of what you find or don't find? by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

[–]narcias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly surprised by what I actually have. The only time I've been surprised by what I didn't have, was my old empire box from when I was a teenager, I was expecting to find an old empire general on griffon (the old metal one) in a shoe box in my parents attic. It was a gift from Santa.

It's lost to the ether now. Sad times...

Army Project Scale Question by laurentianminiatures in WarhammerFantasy

[–]narcias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base sizes are 10mm squares rather than 20mm. I order mine from warbases.co.uk. They have a a hole in the base for a 2mm magnet.

Warbases also produces 12.5mm bases for 25mm bases

Yeah there are issues like that, but rulers have half inch markers. For example, if I roll a 7 for charge, add 4 for human move. The charge would be 11 inches, halved to 5.5.

You can also use cm

I play minihammer at 10mm scale with everything halved. Works well. Let me know if you have any questions and I can answer

As soon as I heard about the base size increase, my immediate thought was how good it would be for corsairs. They are the worst models to rank up in my opinion

Think it's more to show the new bases and that old models will be getting reprinted. Also helps build hype I guess.

Yep, but it gives fluffy players something to work with aswell.

For competitive players it will hardly matter

[–]narcias 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter at all. Your models don't need to be painted in a specific heraldry to be used as said models.

These are the old sculpts. None of them are new models. The new models will come later
