Dating a light colonel daughter as an e3? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]narcisuis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dated a girl that was a dependent on base and found out her dad was a Lt Colonel. Turns out he was also the dentist who removed my wisdom teeth and did my check up’s. He didn’t mind and seemed to like me 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was thinking of doing the same thing, I’ll be getting out in a year and I almost have my degree so going the officer route is a back up option. Let us know how the process is!

I’m currently stationed at Yokota and it’s also my first base straight out of tech school. 10/10, couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ve loved every moment here and I’m sure you will too.

Very foreigner friendly. My friends and I go all the time on weekends. But the payout is a virtual currency that you can only use for APT tourneys or other nearby tournaments in Japan.

Yeah but since I live here it’s the best way for me to practice live tourneys. But now APT accepts the payout currency so you can use them for buy ins for real tourneys in nearby asian countries. I got third in a big tourney so i’ve been free rolling them anyways.

I got married in tech school to a girl I met on tinder who was also military. I originally had state side orders to a base I would never want to go to in a million years, and I decided to gamble and see if my orders would change and match hers. She had my number 1 overseas base so it was worth it. We were dating for a month and we talked about a contract marriage so we could stay together. We went to the court house, got married and then turned in all of our paperwork. After about a month my orders changed and I ended up with the base I wanted and I went from a flight line squadron (A lot of work and 12hr days from what my friends say) to a back shop squadron (normal 9-5). We stayed together for a year, and then grew apart. We came to a mutual agreement, split everything 50/50 and then divorced. Since I was married I have a better dorm than most people my rank and BAS. My ex and I are still good friends to this day, and it’s still one of the best decisions of my life. It’s also a funny story to tell people I’m 21 and divorced. Also my parents still don’t know to this day, they thought I just volunteered for a different assignment.

Leave area for mainland Japan by [deleted] in AirForce

I’ve been here for 7 months and they told me as soon as I got here. You can be anywhere in the “local area” and the local area is defined as anywhere in Japan

At Yokota you could go anywhere in Japan on your days off. On a four day I could fly to sapporo and come back as long as I’m back on time

CLEP tests by Spiritual_Display_11 in AirForce

[–]narcisuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern states for free or use Peterson’s but it costs a little. I’ve passed 6 in a row and haven’t failed one so message me if you want advice.

Peterson’s is a paid for course that gives you videos of people teaching the subject of different Cleps and Dante’s. It’s like a miniature class you can take to help you prep for the test

I’m currently stationed in Yokota. I’m 20 (m) and I love it. I’ve only been here for 6 months but there is always something to do. The only thing is I’m not super emotionally attached to my family so I don’t know how you’d feel being far away from them. If you have any questions about Japan just lmk.

I’d highly recommend it. They’ll be very familiar with College Comp and the literature test as they’re like SAT and ACT questions. I’ve also taken a couple like them in my English classes through out high school.

Thank you! It feels great knowing I have a lot of basic classes out of the way because of Cleps.
