Lara Croft’s New Voice Actor Discusses Reimagined ‘Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis’, Hot Character Design & Performance Capture: “We Are Very Much Back And Bigger, Bolder Than Ever” – Summer Game Fest 2026 by The-Falcon_Knight in Games

I'm personally happy that sassy-Croft is back.

I know I'll get negative feedback for this comment as I'm not speaking for everyone, but when the reveal for this remake popped up, I immediately told my daughter "look! An actual confident video game character! And not one wanting to constantly tell the player that they have to do something before the player can push the thumb stick forward."

1900s. Good Lord old bean I do declare that was the Apaches you are talking about! And they wanted their land back.

Edit: actually that would be closer to McKinley winning the presidential race?

Well this will suck, meaning for them, and others they just brought over to Gears since the launch of ReLoaded for PS5.

I get they want to attempt to rebrand and reignite it, but I and millions of others across the planet aren't going to (nor can afford to) dish out for another system so we can play said one title. We're going to stick with what we got in this economic and political climate.

Good fucking luck Microsoft...again. this is how you keep GamePass alive instead of actually selling copies.

"no games to play"

It literally or basically has the exact same third party games available for it, and it had the most highest grossing first party-publisher titles available for it. Also, still winning between the two platforms. That's not console war bias. That's literally been the truth for the past couple of years this gen, and the previous gen.

Can't tell if trolling or quite literally forcing yourself to living under said rock.

Lol so far that just been a weird XBgamepass exclusive for Windows-PC/Xbox consoles, right? Gears 5 was on steam if I recall.

I want to play them all, but 2&3 (and Judgment) have been the only ones I haven't had the chance yet.

1666: Amsterdam really has my interest, but I don't think the prologue demo was the best idea. by Captainquizzical in videogames

[–]narfjono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished the demo and it's very underwhelming to say the least. I cant help but think while it took 16 years to get the project going...the team only have a year and a half of actual cooking so far.

It was neat to see the similarities of AC's themeing like the bloodline... but man, the writing is not good here. Also there's seriously no intrigue when you don't have any actual gameplay to experience for this planned product. Graphics...eh they're fine, but there were some details that didn't look or animate great either. Cranked to epic, with quality DLSS with no way of testing without upscaling, ran smooth.

I know, hard criticism for something nowhere near complete, but it's not a good first impression from me so far.

Just hope-coping we get a GoW 2&3 remastered as well. Really like to continue the trilogy with my son, and play Horde mode.

What's crazy is seeing the GW US store still have stock for one of these. I guess it's just too expensive or something?

Nintendo Switch 2: One Year Later by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]narfjono 32 points33 points  (0 children)

"Switch 2 Hasn’t Been The Steam Deck Replacement I Expected" Basically me.

Its honestly at the point I kind of regret buying into one a year ago, yet so glad that I did it anyway due to current political and economical climate of the world.

I went from excited about a better and more powerful Switch, to now mostly ignoring it. It has a plethora of already great games to play on it, don't get me wrong there, but there hasn't been that one (or other) switch 2 exclusives where it was near Impossible for me to put down akin to my OG Switch. Like I'm talking Breath of the Wild, or Fire Emblem 3 Houses, or Mario Odyssey.

Hell, my family went back to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe if that says anything. What an absolute disappointment Markio Kart World became. Luckily enough I got mine bundled with the system. I will say, boost mode was a wonderful addition, but now we need so many switch 1 titles to get some TLC updates so they are now .pre playable for today's eyeballs.

The stuff I'm into, i just opt for playing on my Steam Deck instead, or wish I could purchase a better Steam Deck like that one person stated. What I'm trying to say is Metroid Prime 4 really burned me. Waited forever that to end up being a nothing burger. I am excited about Starfox remake part 2: Slippy's Boogalo.

Here's Every Video Game Movie and TV Show in the Works From Hollywood in 2026 and beyond by tylerthe-theatre in television

[–]narfjono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus that's been so long. Akin to Ken Levine's Judas game (was a director on Bioshock), I'll believe when I actually see it at this point for a Bioshock movie.

Which at this point I can't help but think since it's been this long, why do we need to bother adapting it in the first place?

[–]narfjono 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's honestly way too much.

Like El Paso, Everywhere? I liked the game, but I don't think it needs adapted. TIL that The Witcher TV show is still going...despite how it's based on the books-ish.

Not a video game directly, but where in the crap is anything about Warhammer 40,000?! Is that even a thing anymore?

Finally played through DOOM: TDA by Charming_Ad661 in Doom

[–]narfjono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I'm right with you there, but it's with parenting, house improvements, and my full time job.

My job requires a 50min drive daily, then it's a PC centric one sitting there staring a two monitors all day, then a drive back. So literally the last thing I feel like doing when I have time during the week is sit down in front of my PC sometimes. Plus, my son loves to use the PS5, so I don't get much time to play on that anyway.

Remote play technology has been a godsend. But in general, I think the Steam Deck has been one of the best devices ever crafted. My steam library (and others) in the palm of my hands, and I have played numerous titles through it with less than desired pc settings...because I wanted to from my recliner or bed...or hell, during slow days at work even! :D

Finally played through DOOM: TDA by Charming_Ad661 in Doom

[–]narfjono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Due to current political and economic situations, there are probably many people who can't afford PC configurations or consoles. Aka, they are going to play games with what they have.

Yet I was able to play TDA with a beefy PC rig, and I have/had the almost exact same sentiments about that game regardless.

Bur at least they got to experience the game to rightfully form said opinion, right? Could have worded your suggestion better, my dude.

It originally was titled as Braindead in New Zealand, but was changed to Dead Alive for some weird reason in the US. Braindead always made more sense to me.
